What an incredibly, full year this has been for Aglow! In my opening blog in January, I spoke of 2012 being a year to see, to watch, and to experience the government of God as it rises in the earth anew. In order for this to happen, we purposed to allow the increase of His government to arise in us individually. We determined to be intentional in:
- Receiving and expressing His goodness daily.
- Living in abundance and not measure.
- Being more astonished at who God is for us.
- Processing everything through His majesty.
For the last 8 years, we have been walking in a prophetic cycle that has been unfolding before us. Each of our conferences have built one upon the other with this conference bringing a culmination of transformation that is bearing fruit and has defined our future.
Our wineskin has changed. Aglow has become a transformational Kingdom culture with mindsets not of this world. We are arising in a new identity in the earth and we are a prototype people who know their God and, who are known by their God.
Following our 2012 U. S. National Conference, Tony, Anna Hammer, and I left for a strategic conference in Britain with Nonnie McVeigh, National President of Great Britain and her wonderful, apostolic board. They have carried the vision abroad and have watched faithfully as groups have been established in Cyprus, the Isle of Man, Romania, Ukraine, and many other places. Aglow is blessed to have leaders in the nations of the world who are not afraid to slay the giants in their land and in surrounding countries.
Great Britain Carrying the Vision
While at the conference in Britain, my eyes were drawn to Isaiah 55:5, “Surely you shall call a nation you do not know, and nations who do not know you shall run to you, because of the Lord your God, and the Holy One of Israel; for He has glorified you.” During a time of proclamation, I felt to call out to Malta, a nation with no Aglow presence and a nation that the leaders of Britain have determined to reach. Everyone on the platform stood behind me in support. A key leader in Britain, also an Aglow advisor, urged me to go further with the proclamation, declaring it over all of the world and Aglow. It was a powerful moment that I expect to see fruit come from in the near future.
Anna Hammer, Aglow’s Generation Project Director, was like a woman on fire as she spoke to the younger generation in Britain. She spoke so freely, encouraging each person to take his or her place to light the darkness. She is doing a marvelous job and we were amazed to hear of the many generations groups that are lighting dark places in their communities.
Prayer for America
Coming home from Britain, I headed to Washington, D.C. to join the United States National Leadership Team (USNLT), Nancy McDaniel, Prayer Director, Sandy Wezowicz, Israel Education Director, and Diane Moder, Islam Education Director in a 3-day, time of focused prayer for America. The USNLT has completed 3 years of prayer trips to the DC area; one region each month along with a prayer team of seasoned warriors and champions. Many relationships have been built with strategic ministries in the DC area.
The first day of our time began with a prayer luncheon. Among the invited were those responsible for ministries which stand on the walls in DC. A beautiful flow of worship mixed with prayer topics covered by members of the USNLT made for a wonderful time of calling our nation into alignment with heaven’s purposes. Following the luncheon, Aglow leaders walked the halls of the capitol, stopping in prominent places for times of strategic prayer.
The next day, our first stop was the White House. Looking like other tourists, we were on a mission, proclaiming that it would be on earth in the White House as it is in Heaven. We also enjoyed a time of food and fellowship with our friends at Family Research Council. Then we joined Jason Hershey, the YWAM intercessor who initiated David’s Tent. Located on the ellipse of the White House, David’s Tent was a tent filled with 24/7 worship and prayer for the 40 days leading up to the elections. It was a glorious trip.
Incredible Life in Texas
Leaving DC, Linda Jones, Chief of Executive Relations/Executive Director of the US Field, Kathy Sanders, Leader Development Director, and I stopped in Austin, Texas for a Leader’s Summit with the Central Area and Heart of Texas Area leaders. This meeting marked the third time I have been in Texas this year. It was remarkable to see the continued building of what God is doing and saying in the ministry. There is incredible life there. In fact, the first night I spoke, 6 people reported the next day that they were healed. Truth sets people free.
It is a new day in Aglow. Indeed, we are a transformational Kingdom culture that is not ruled by mindsets of this world. We have aligned with Heaven and our declarations are made as we listen into the conversations taking place in Heaven.
As you plan your end of the year giving for 2012, exalt His Majesty today and make an end-of-year gift. Allow His Majesty to dominate your mindset. Allow His Majesty to become so magnificent that it rules the enemy from your inner man. Of all the places He could have chosen to live, He has chosen to make His home within you. Receive today from His Majesty living within you.
And, as you think about your end-of-year gift, consider becoming part of the company of people spoken of in a prophetic word from 2008. This word, spoken from our future, described hundreds of thousands of ordinary people giving into the work of Aglow. Already, this group of “A” Company givers who have pledged to give a minimum monthly gift of $10 or more has grown in the last 4 months from 700 to over 1,000. Won’t you consider becoming a part of this end time giving-group if you are not already? Join "A" Company Today!
Thank you for responding to the nudge of the Holy Spirit as you consider;
- Your end-of-year gift and
- Becoming part of “A” Company today, a great company of warriors and champions, and sowing a monthly gift of $10 or more ($10 min.)
I believe that the year 2012 is a very significant year. The number 12 symbolizes divine accomplishment and governmental perfection. Twelve also implies structural beginning or foundation of organization. This is a year in which the government of God will arise in the earth in fullness through His people.
Aglow’s 36s (12 x 3)
- This year marks Aglow’s 36th year to have the name ‘Aglow’ registered.
- This year marks Aglow’s 36th year since moving the headquarters office out of 2 houses into the school building due to growth.
- This year marks Aglow’s 36th year to have a Covenant Partner program where people are willing to pay a small yearly fee to show their support of the ministry.
Aglow’s 24s (12 x 2)
- This year marks Aglow’s 24th year to be in a minimum of 91 nations of the world.
- This year marks Aglow’s 24th year to have a minimum of 1,000 Lighthouses in the United States and a minimum of 800 (now nearly 3,000!) outside the U.S.
- This year marks Aglow’s 24th year since sending out the first direct mail fundraiser to all its members.
- This is Aglow’s 12th trip into Israel to bless the land, to pray for the people, and to stand with the tender shoot of Messianic believers. We have pledged to sow into the land each month this year. The first two gifts have been sown already.
- This is Aglow’s 12th year for our Arabic television series, Diwaniya. It is now available around the world. Recently, a pastor in Pakistan posted on Facebook that Aglow is famous in Pakistan because of Diwaniya. Many are coming to Christ.
- This year marks the 3rd year that the 12 regions in the United States have gone into Washington, DC to pray, making strategic connections on many different levels.
There is a new awakening upon Aglow and it has come with a quickening spirit. New foundations are being laid which will enable us to overcome the roots of our history and continue moving into the fullness and future of God’s plan for Aglow. We are no longer a hidden women’s group! We are a movement of women and men that is fully on the move.
This year, 2012, also marks Aglow International’s 45th year since our birth in 1967. Forty-five represents victory over the stronghold!
The Time of Our Arising
This is the year Aglow will see VICTORY OVER STRONGHOLDS! Stronghold is defined as a place of security or survival. While a place of survival can be necessary during times of danger, the position of survival is not a position for citizens of Heaven. Citizens of Heaven are meant to thrive, not survive!
The number 45 also means maintaining, preserving or protecting the things that matter the most to you. In Joshua 14, we find that Caleb was kept alive, preserved for 45 years until the word God had given him was fulfilled. If the Bible was still being written today, we would find in its pages that Aglow, like Caleb, has been preserved or kept alive for 45 years for the fulfillment of the words God has spoken over us.
It is time for Aglow to arise to the place that God has prepared us for. This is the time of our arising. At the 2011 Aglow Worldwide Conference, Graham Cooke said, If we are to be the people who usher in the return of the King, then we must become the fulfillment of all the Father’s intention in creation. This is our moment to really shine in the earth. We are a people who have God living on the inside of us. It is time for us to stand up. God is breathing on us. He trusts us. Our voice shall be heard in the nations. We must rise up and occupy the place God has set aside for us.
I closed the conference with these words: 2011 marked our 38th conference – 38 means slavery. In John 5 there was a man by the pool of Bethesda. He had been there 38 years. He was enslaved within a body that would not function in the way God purposed or intended. He was locked in old mindsets and old ways of thinking. When Jesus appeared and asked him why he was by the pool, the man began to explain. I cannot get into the water. I have been here 38 long years. Jesus told the man, ‘Rise and walk!’ Something had shifted and now healing was coming in a different way. It was up to the man to believe and receive that word and to step into a new mindset, the new way. I believe that is what God is doing in this ministry. He is coming to us in a different way than perhaps we have experienced Him in the past. He is coming to us in a way that is transforming old mindsets into new ways of thinking.
It is our time. It is our hour. It is our moment. When God called Abraham out of Ur, Abraham received the word and began to walk in it. He did not know where he was going. He simply obeyed. God has told us that this is the time of our arising. We are to arise and walk. All arguments must come down and the glory of God must arise! It is an hour where we can no longer play church. We must arise and let the glory of the Lord be seen upon us!
A Strategic Release
Those of you who attended the 2009 Worldwide Conference in Louisville, KY, will remember the spontaneous offering that took place during that conference. About $80,000 was collected in that offering for the purpose of buying Aglow its own “home”. In the years since, the fund has grown to $104,000. During those years, we have investigated buying the building in which we currently have office space. We have also looked at buying other land or buildings. With the world financial system suffering as it has since 2008, we have not found the place or had the finances, nor felt the release from God to purchase anything.
I have written to you in previous letters and blogs what I feel the Lord is speaking to me related to His plans and purposes for Aglow in 2012. When we began to receive strategic prophetic words in 2003, those words created a new space around us. Aglow is learning to live in its new space in 2012, our 45th year. Like Caleb, we have been preserved to see the fulfillment of all God has spoken to us.
As God is revealing Himself and helping us learn to live in the new prophetic space in which we now find ourselves, we have felt the need to adjust the “space” we call our Worldwide Headquarters offices. We are investigating what exactly that might mean. We also feel led to ask those of you who have donated funds to the “Building/Land” fund to allow us to “un-restrict” the gifts and use the money to help create the office space that will be suitable for us as we are now—in our new prophetic identity. Therefore:
- If you have donated to this particular effort and are willing to give us the freedom to use your donation for our “Aglow home,” even if it does not include buying a building or building one on our own piece of land, you do not have to do anything.
- If you have donated to this effort but do not wish to have us “un-restrict” your gift, please respond to our offices by March 20, 2012, by replying to this email or by expressing your response on the response device if you received this as a paper letter.
Thank you for standing with us as together we overcome strongholds and see our prophetic words come to pass. This is the year of our arising.
The Release to Arise
March 31 marks the end of Aglow’s fiscal year. Will you arise to a new level of giving with us to break a stronghold that has been over the ministry at almost every level in every nation? It is time for hundreds of thousands of ordinary people to give into the presence of God in our midst. Will you be one who will arise today and give an amount in a multiple of 12? GIVE NOW or send your gift to Aglow International, P.O. Box 1749, Edmonds, WA 98020. Be sure to note, Jane Letter 03/12 on your check.
Jane Hansen Hoyt
Recently, we celebrated the greatest event known to mankind, Easter.Jesus’ death and resurrection marked a whole new realm of possibility thinking! It is now possible to have a new life, a life no longer marred by sin. Now, we can walk in the freedom of righteousness that Jesus so graciously purchased for us. Now we can walk in the same favor that Jesus walks in with the Father. What a Savior! What freedom from past sin! What wondrous possibilities are available to all who acknowledge Him for who He is…Redeemer of all that was lost.
The 2012 Israel Journey
By the time you receive this letter, I will be in Israel. This year we have almost 200 people joining us. There are 140 first timers, with 14 nations represented. We have one bus for the French speaking group who are joining us from 4 different nations, including Equatorial Guinea in Africa, and they will have a French speaking guide. We also will have ten Chinese speaking women from China/Hong Kong, as well as women coming from Japan…all for the first time. Our Generations Director, Anna Hammer, is bringing 13 of her peers from across the nation with her. What a representation of the truly diverse and international ministry that Aglow is! Our trips into Israel are always strategic and this one is lining up to be so as well. You are all aware of the current day threats targeting this nation, so please remember to keep us in your prayers from April 30th – May 10th as we walk the land, proclaiming God’s heart for this people.
International Board of Directors Meeting
During the second week of March, the members of the International Board of Directors gathered in Edmonds for our annual meeting. We welcomed several new board members: Nonnie McVeigh, National President of Aglow Britain; Liz Mbuzi, National President of Aglow Zambia; and Kerry-Ellen Logan, National President of Aglow Australia. It was great having additional nations represented on our Board. Other IBOD members are Edda Swan, National President of Aglow Iceland; Merina Netto, National President of Aglow India; Glenda Fleming, U.S. South Regional Director; Jannie Reverda, National Director, Middle East; and Diane Moder, Islamic Awareness and Education Director. The unity factor was awesome and the Lord enabled us to make wonderful strides forward, even as He has been speaking it into Aglow these past several years.
Graham Cooke joined us on Monday and Tuesday. We had many lively, life-filled, mind expanding conversations. We had powerful times of worship and proclamation prayer over the ministry, as well as a time of calling forth new nations into Aglow. Remember, it is the believers in a nation that hold the true identity of that nation. They hold God’s design and purpose for their respective nations.
One of the things I shared with the IBOD, is that I believe our Worldwide conference in Houston this past September was a milestone (landmark) in the history of Aglow. This is Aglow’s 45th anniversary year. We are as lively and strong today as we were when we began in 1967. God has preserved us for this day and this time. We have remained pliable in His hands and therefore we have continued to live with a present-future mindset, always moving towards our destined purpose. We are leading others to a higher place, helping them to walk out of old ways and old mindsets and pick up our identity in Christ and walk in the fullness of that truth. Our role in the earth is to see abundance restored.
A Fresh Impetus of God’s Spirit is Upon Us
As the leader of this ministry, I boldly proclaim that I am not looking to another church or another ministry for a fresh move of the Spirit. I am looking for a fresh move of God’s Spirit within Aglow! There is a quickening Spirit upon the truths that He is making so real to us at this time. This fresh impetus of His Spirit is causing us to move to a glorious new place in the Spirit. We have come into a new place. Old things are passing away and new things are emerging!
A New Vision/Mission Statement
One of the most important things to come out of our board meeting this year is the rebranding of Aglow. As we have seen and felt God moving us to a new place in Him, we felt it was time to update our mission statement. You will be hearing much more about this in the coming months and you will begin to see it written as we begin to introduce this statement into all that we do. Since Aglow began in 1967, we have had several mission statements. All of them have been fitting for where the Aglow ministry was at the time. Each one has built on and incorporated the others. In the past, we have referred to the statement that guides us as a mission statement.
We began to look at the meaning of the words “vision” and “mission.” Perhaps the easiest way to explain the use of vision over mission today is to add “ary” to each word and look at their definitions.
A visionary is someone who is casting vision for the future – the big picture. A missionary is one who carries out the work of that vision.
A good vision statement is inspiring. It is a statement that is both bold and broad. It is a statement that encompasses everything we do and leaves expansion for our future. Vision is not about direction. It is about the height a movement wishes to achieve.
So with that, I would like to introduce our new vision statement which will replace our former mission statement:
New Vision Statement
To carry the truth of the Kingdom that:
- Restores people to a radiant place of relationship with God and one another
- Breaks the tyranny of oppression
- Brings freedom and empowerment
This will be the statement that you use to describe us.
New Mission Statement
Our Mission statement is “in house” and explains how we intend to do the things our vision statement says. An effective mission statement is specific and descriptive of the actual work to be undertaken by a movement. It should answer the questions, “Why do we exist?” and “What do we do?” With that in mind, our new mission statement is:
Aglow International is a Kingdom Movement committed to seeing God’s will done on earth as it is in Heaven. We do this through:
- Mobilizing millions into a company of warriors, champions, and global leaders of significance.
- Establishing powerful Kingdom Communities founded on the fullness of Christ in every nation of the world.
- Empowering people to develop resources that enable them to take advantage of all that God is releasing from Heaven.
- Forming apostolic teams that demonstrate the power of Heaven in the darkest places of earth.
- Cultivating a worldwide presence that creates an atmosphere of celebration, impartation, and restoration.
New Tag Line
Our new tag line will replace “a network of caring women.” While we are still that, we have grown to a new place that encompasses so much more. Our new tag line is, Every nation touched, every heart changed.
I encourage you to take time to read over the Vision and Mission Statements and memorize the tag line. Let it sink into your spirit. As was spoken to us at our International Conference in Houston, “Aglow has grown up. We have passed our tests. It is the time of our arising!”
We have an open Heaven. We have great favor. It is time we step into it. It is time for us to step into who we are and we must do this individually as well as corporately.
Our New Core Values
We have also updated our Core Values, and they are as follows:
As a Kingdom Community, Aglow International is absolutely committed to:
- God’s Presence - Creating an atmosphere and environment of worship for the presence of God to be encountered.(Psalm 22:3)
- Relationship - Treating each other with integrity, openness, honesty, non-negotiable love, and goodness.(1 Peter 4:8)
- Redemption - Partnering with God for the redemption of all things according to the Gospel. (Col 1:13-14)
- Freedom - Standing firm against everything that enslaves. (Gal 5:1)
- Restoration - Bringing every identity into alignment with the purposes of God. (Rom 12:2, Eph 4:22-24)
- The Beloved - Living as a community who knows they are the beloved, and establishes their identity as the Bride. (Song of Solomon 7:10, Eph 1:6)
- Goodness - Demonstrating goodness as the power of God to always overcome evil. (Rom 12:21, Acts 10:38)
- Radiance - Having radiant encounters with God, leading to a brilliant experience of who Christ is in us. (Eph 1:17-20)
- God’s Kingdom - Expressing the nature of God through reconciliation to the world He loves. (2 Cor 5:18-20, Col 1:19,20)
- Supernatural Power - Moving in signs, wonders, and miracles to demonstrate the heaven-to-earth nature of life in the Spirit. (Mark 16:17-18, 1 Cor 12:4-11)
This IS who we are. Identity is the key to transformation. We must know who we are individually and we must know it corporately. Our biggest role is to teach, lead and demonstrate the fullness of Jesus. This must be our passion.
Remember, vision isn’t about the direction you are going but about the height you want to rise to. I encourage you to rise to the fullness of who God is – of who Christ is in you – of who you are in Christ. Aglow is arising – come arise with us!
(Be sure to read the P.S. below from our Creative Services Department, who are working to provide you with all the resources you need to ARISE in your identity in Christ.)

P.S. – From Creative Services Department Re: Communication & Technology
Second, if you aren’t on Facebook, get on board! What a powerful networking tool to receive the resources necessary to become the model of what it means to be in Christ! Go to the official Aglow International Facebook page and “like” us. By doing so, you will be continuously connected to the impartation of LIFE in Aglow, and have a convenient way of sharing that LIFE with your friends, family and Aglow teams, and acting as a “visual aid” to others.
Third, with the introduction of a new website in the past year, go to Aglow.org often. Explore, read, and provide comments. The website is a wealth of inspiration and resources!
Where does the time go? The holiday season is almost upon us. Christmas music is being heard in the stores and customers are being urged to begin checking items off of their lists. While I love Christmas, everything in me wants to say, Hold on! I am not ready for this. And besides, it can’t possibly be true that another year has almost come to an end. I will say it again….Where does the time go?
While the holidays can be a busy time, it is also the season that reminds the world again of the awesome news that Heaven was announcing to earth!
I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people.
Heaven was coming to earth! The Word was becoming flesh and would dwell in our midst. The world would be forever altered with the birth of a Savior. Christ the Lord was making His humble entrance into the world. Now, all people would have opportunity to know Him…if only they could hear the good tidings of great joy that He came to bring to all.
That was over 2000 years ago. Today, the world’s population is some 7 billion people, with a Christian population of over 2 billion. With 1.5 billion Islamists, 1.1 billion Secularists, 900 million Hindu’s, 400 million Buddhists and many other religions, there are still large segments of the global population that have not heard the good tidings.
Aglow International – 45 Years of Ministry
John Dawson, President of Youth with a Mission recently stated, Never has Aglow seemed more relevant.
How true that statement is. Aglow has been on a journey of transformation these past few years. We aren’t the same ministry we were in the early days of our inception. Times have changed and God has been preparing Aglow for these times in which we live. With a current outreach into nearly 170 nations, touching the lives of 17 million people annually, He has positioned us and prepared us. He has purposed us to make an even greater impact on increased numbers of lives as we boldly share His good tidings to all people. It is a part of our identity and our inheritance.
New life has been forming over this ministry. Something of the Spirit has been stirring up our depths with a greater desire to move into a deeper level of relationship with God and to be a greater expression of His life, His goodness, and His love to the world around us.
At our recent Worldwide Conference in Houston, Texas, Chuck Pierce said, This is one of the most significant meetings we have ever had in Aglow. God wrote the Word around a harvest calendar, not a Roman calendar. We are being recycled back into a harvest anointing that we will see in every nation. We need to develop a mind for the future and see the future as linked with expectation.
Dr. Pierce went on to say, Aglow will be used this year to establish the House of the Lord from nation to nation. The House of the Lord is forming in a way we have never seen before.
Identity is about Living in Your Inheritance
The words of our conference speakers, and many other prophetic words that have been spoken over Aglow in recent years, refer not only to God’s intentionality towards this ministry, but of our identity, our destiny, and our inheritance. Prophetic words are God’s way of telling us how He views us and connects us with our next stage of identity. We have become pregnant with promise. He is giving a new horizon for the journey we are on.
I love this statement from Graham Cooke’s book, Prophetic Wisdom. God supplying all your needs is the baseline of faith. But there is a bigger, bolder place than that which He wants to release to us. It is a place which is tied to our identity. His sons and daughters live in a place above need. They live in their inheritance. We are to come to a place in His Spirit where our identity releases our provision. We are to ask from our inheritance, not from our need.
We are not people of the recession. Our lives are not based upon the economies of the world. We are people of the Kingdom, citizens of heaven, with an inheritance that is outrageous, exhilarating and awesome.
An Offering of Worship, Thanksgiving & Rejoicing
We have heard the summons; THIS IS THE TIME OF YOUR ARISING!
I believe that God has made His destiny for Aglow very clear. We know our identity and we know we have an inheritance to walk in.
Will you please join me in this time of our arising by giving a year-end gift towards the goal of establishing the House of the Lord from nation to nation? We have several donors who have agreed to rise with us and are encouraging us through their generous, early gifts. You may give now electronically on our secure donation page at www.myaglow.org/netcommunity/JaneLetter11/11 , or send your gift to Aglow International, P.O. Box 1749, Edmonds, WA 98020. Be sure to note, Jane Letter 11/11 on your check.
I am asking boldly from our place of inheritance.
I am asking in line with our destiny.
I am asking with our future in mind.
I am asking FROM the future.
As Dr. Pierce told us, We need to develop a mind for the future and to see that the future is linked with our expectations. We are being recycled back into a harvest anointing that we will begin to see in every nation. You will establish the House of the Lord from nation to nation.

On December 15, 1791 our forefathers ratified the Bill of Rights, a set of 10 amendments to the Constitution. The Bill of Rights plays a key role in American law and government, and remains a vital symbol of the freedoms and culture of the nation. The first amendment, Freedom of Speech, Press, Religion and Petition states:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
This past December, the U.S. State Department hosted a three-day, closed-door international conference to discuss implementation of Resolution 16/18 with members of the OIC (Organization of Islamic Cooperation). If implemented, it will have a direct impact on the first amendment. If implemented, it will criminalize the criticism of Islam in America. To read reports on this meeting click the following links for articles written by reputable sources: The Investigative Project on Terrorism and Hudson Institute.
The OIC is the world’s largest Islamic Organization with 56 member states and the Palestinian Authority. The OIC is the second largest intergovernmental agency behind the United Nations. These nations typically vote as a bloc within the U.N.
By discussing the implementation of Resolution 16/18, the U.S. State Department immediately gives validity to the OIC's position. The OIC has attempted for the past 12 years to pass resolutions that would criminalize the ‘defamation of religions’, specifically Islam. There appears to be nothing in this that mentions criticism of Christianity or Judaism. Under the resolution, even if what you say about Islam is true, if it incites Muslims to violence, you could be held criminally liable. Unlike traditional U.S. defamation laws, truth would not be considered a defense.
The next meeting to discuss the implementation of this resolution will be held this spring in Europe. Many Europeans are already limited in what they can say because of ‘hate speech’ laws in their nations. The OIC nations already restrict speech so the resolution is meant to silence critics of Islam within western nations. Even if the U.S. does not implement the resolution, if Europe implements it, we would be faced with the possibility of it becoming international law.
There are many who are speaking about the ramifications of this resolution. One leader stated:
Christians need to be concerned regarding this measure because if implemented in the way the OIC desires, it would severely limit what Americans could say regarding Islam. This would include examining the beliefs of Islam, criticizing the prophet or any of the practices within Islam (including honor killings, forced marriages, etc.) or taken to its ultimate, yet logical conclusion proclaiming that ‘Jesus Christ is the Son of God’ since that would be considered blasphemy within Islam. Elected public officials need to be made aware of this resolution and the State Department's activities.
As Aglow women and men we certainly want to be in prayer about this, and as responsible American citizens let our concerns be known to our representatives. By calling the White House switchboard at 202-456-1414 and asking for your State Senator or State Representative, you can make your desire known in a matter of minutes. You can also contact your Senators by going to www.senate.gov A complete list of Senators with contact information is available. Contact your Representative by going to www.house.gov and typing in your zip code. Give your name, place of residence, and tell them you cannot support the UN resolution 16/18 as it is in violation of the First Amendment.
Representative Lamar Smith of Texas is the Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee. His number is 202-225-4236. Take a moment to call today and let him hear that you hope he will do his best to break the support that some of our key leaders have given to this resolution.
Time is of the utmost importance. It is time our voice is heard in the land. U.S. support of the United Nations resolution 16/18 must be halted. If it is not, it will soon be illegal for Aglow to hold informational Islamic seminars in the United States. Call today!
Esther 4:14b Who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?
Jane Hansen Hoyt
At the beginning of the year, I felt that the Lord gave me Ps. 65:11 for the ministry.
You crown the year with Your goodness, and Your paths drip with abundance.
Abundance means plenty, richness, wealth, profusion, copiousness, lavishness, great quantity, loads. It has nothing to do with scarcity or lack.
Often we think of abundance only in relation to finances when in truth, abundance is meant for every area of our lives. Because we can put too much stock on what we see in the natural and we can think we don’t have abundance. The truth is God is always working behind the scenes to get us to a place where He CAN move abundantly in our lives.
A word given to us before our conference in 2010 told us that we were under renovation. Have you ever done a renovation in your home? If so, you know it can be a long, messy process. When you are in the middle of it – you think it will never be over!
Since 2003 we have known that Aglow was undergoing transition – a shift happened at our Worldwide Conference in Indianapolis and we knew we had been set on a path of God’s choosing. Each conference since then has been a building block set one up on the other as God’s intentionality toward and in this ministry has become more and more evident. Aglow is His; He began it, He caused it to spread to the nations, and He continuously watches over it.
A couple of weeks ago, I was involved in meetings with some members of IBOD where we looked in earnest at what God is calling us to in this day. Who are we, where are we going, even WHO are we becoming? These are exciting days and, as we poured over the words God has spoken to this ministry, we feel a growing excitement over what God has stored up for our future. You will hear more from me at our Conference in Houston regarding the decisions that have been reached.
I want to encourage each National leader and Regional Committee leader to be in attendance during the International Council meetings on Wednesday and Thursday September 28-29th. This year, for the first time ever, we have also invited U.S. and International Area Leaders to be a part of these meetings.
New Staff Changes
Two of our interns, Andrea Boysun and Paul Slye, have moved to new places outside of Aglow. Paul accepted a full time job in Minnesota and Andrea has moved to Colorado to pursue the path God has for her. Both of them are wonderful young people who brought much to our office and we will greatly miss them.
Another huge change comes in our Generations Department. Evangeline Weiner, whom you all know and love, has resigned to pursue God as He unfolds direction for the next season of her life. We knew when Evangeline came to us to help grow the Generation Program that it would most likely be for a season. She has done a wonderful job of getting the ball rolling. We have seen groups spring up across the world as nations have responded to her call to the Generations. Though we will miss her, we bless her and pray for the new season that is unfolding in her life.
One Door Closes, Another Opens
When Evangeline announced her decision to resign from her position in Aglow, God was stirring an ember in the heart of a new Generations Director. Having walked with our in-house Generations Group, one of the young leaders expressed a desire to work with and continue building generations groups and young people around the world. It is with great delight that we announce that Anna Hammer has accepted the position of Generations Director.
For now, Anna will wear more than one hat as she continues to be Administrative Assistant to Linda Jones in the Worldwide Field Office – USA and also helps Diane Fink with registrations for A.I.M. Anna is the daughter of our Advisor, Pastor Dan Hammer. She has worked with the ministry for six years, having begun in the Finance Department. She has an amazing heart for the nations and for the generations. She is a young woman with a heart after God and is gifted at preaching and teaching. We are confident that you will welcome and love Anna and that she will move the Generation Project to the next level. Watch for exciting new tools to reach the young people around you.
As we move towards our Worldwide Conference in Houston, we know with a surety that God is up to something big with Aglow. Our future is secure as we continue to follow the Holy Spirit. His promise is that our latter years will be more fruitful than our former years. I pray that you will join us in Houston, Texas on Sept 29 – Oct 2, 2011, for The Sound from the Nations Conference.

Here in the Pacific Northwest the newness and beauty of spring is all around us. This wonderful season is a much welcomed sight throughout the Northern Hemisphere. The extreme weather patterns of winter brought unusual amounts of snow and rain, along with numerous tornadoes. However, nothing compares to the devastating earthquakes that took place in both New Zealand and Japan, along with the tsunami that followed.
Let me share recent comments made by Noriko, our leader in Japan. I am overwhelmed by the aftershocks which have lasted for a month. The metrological agency warns that there will still be big aftershocks. I am concerned about the nuclear reactor in Fukushima, which is located next to our prefecture. I pray for protection. It is difficult to sleep at night. Lifestyle has changed. Spring has come to Japan. Usually we go out to enjoy the cherry blossoms, but this year I did not have that kind of cheerful desire.
While we have heard that our Aglow women in Japan are okay, many of them have lost much. Please continue to uphold our dear Aglow sisters and the people of Japan as they walk through this difficult time. The comfort of Jeremiah 29 speaks to our hearts; for I know the thoughts that I think toward you….to give you a future and a hope.
The Year 2011
As I looked to the Lord for direction the first part of 2011, I felt He spoke a couple of things to my heart for the Aglow ministry. Let me share them.
When my watch stopped at 5:10 just before the New Year, I began looking up scriptures related to these numbers and 1 of the scriptures that really spoke to me was in II Kings 5. Naaman, commander of the Syrian army, was seeking healing for his leprosy. The king of Syria had sent a letter to the king of Israel, advising that Naaman, his servant, was being sent to Israel so that he might be healed. The king of Israel was distraught. But the response of Elisha was, Let him come to me, and he shall know that there is a prophet in Israel. The prophetic word was spoken to Naaman that he was to go wash in the Jordan 7 times and his flesh would be restored clean.
I felt the Lord speak 2 things to my heart from this scripture. First, a greater prophetic voice would come through Aglow. Secondly, a healing ministry would also come through Aglow that would have freshness on it. We should not look for things to come in an old way. We should expect a fresh new way. This will be a time for us to be surprised by how God shows up in both prophecy and healing in 2011!
Eight years ago, at our 2003 Worldwide Conference, a definite and profound prophetic shift took place in Aglow. Since that time, we have been walking out that shift. There have been accompanying words spoken over Aglow confirming greater vision and purpose. We have all been so keenly aware of walking into an upgrade.
Just as Elisha released the prophetic word through Israel, I encourage you to expect and release a fresh prophetic flow from within yourself and within your area of ministry in Aglow. Be bold in releasing and expecting a fresh flow of healing. Step out in faith, expecting the miraculous to take place. Don’t hold back.
Aglow 2011 Worldwide Conference
This year is the 38th Aglow conference. The number 38 stands for slavery or enslavement. John 5 speaks of a man who had been lying by the pool of Bethesda for 38 years. He was enslaved in an infirm body and had waited expectantly each year for the stirring of the water so that he might be healed. Then, Jesus came on the scene asking the man, Do you want to be made well? The infirm man’s response was that he had no one to put him into the pool when the water was stirred. He was looking for healing in the old way. Jesus simply said, Rise, take up your bed and walk. The new had come!
Even as Jesus came with the new, we must break away from the old way of doing things and embrace the new. Who we were in the last season is not who we are in the new season. God has a new way for us and I believe this conference will be an ongoing expression of all that is new and fresh. As we continue to walk towards our future, I believe it is imperative that you make plans to be in Houston. God stands in our future calling us to move into His prophesied place for us. We cannot walk in old ways down new paths.
The theme: A SOUND FROM THE NATIONS
The dates: September 29-October 2, 2011
The place: George R. Brown Convention Center, Houston Texas
Board of Directors Meeting & Decisions
Our International Board of Directors met in March at the Worldwide Headquarters. I always love being part of these meetings. It is a pleasure to be able to gather with women from the nations as we pray and seek God’s direction for Aglow in the coming year. There is always such a unity of spirit that is so precious as we seek God together for Aglow. I want to share some updates with you regarding some decisions that were made in relation to Aglow’s future.
The Abuse of Women & Children
A year or so ago I read a book called Half the Sky. Several of the Leadership Team here at Headquarters read it as well. There began to be a deep stirring in my heart regarding the issues involving the brutality inflicted on women and girls in much of the world. These issues are gaining recognition as one of the greatest problems of this century. They are very much akin to the issue of slavery that William Wilberforce fought to abolish in the late 1700’s. There are literally millions who are being abused, trafficked, and coerced into various types of enslavement with no way out of their situation. We, Aglow, must make a stand.
It was decided that: Aglow International will pursue all avenues that address the issues of enslavement, oppression and abuse of people, such as human trafficking, female genital mutilation (FGM), and forced labor.
At the very heart of Aglow’s vision is the setting free of captives from the depths of hurt and pain, and bringing oppressed people into the liberating news of the gospel as said in Luke 4:18-19.
We are beginning to explore the possible direction this will take, by looking at the general guidelines that will be needed for this huge task. I will keep you apprised and updated of where we are going with this. Please wait for further instruction.
Israel Education Director
Sandy Wezowicz, current director of the New England Region, has been asked to serve as Israel Education Director. Sandy has been serving as Watchman on the Wall Director and will continue to provide these valuable seminars. In her new role, Sandy will research and prepare information related to Israel, the Jewish people, anti-Semitism, replacement theology, Palestinian theology, and long standing issues in the Middle East. Sandy is a gifted teacher/speaker with a passion for Israel and will be an able educator on these issues. She will be resigning her position as U.S. Regional Director in the near future.
As President/CEO, I will continue to give overall vision and direction to the Israel Mandate just as I currently do for Islam and Male/Female reconciliation.
Diane Moder continues to serve as Islam Awareness and Education Director. She continues to provide educational materials, both within the Aglow ministry and well beyond. She is looking for new ways to communicate the message via different media venues. A DVD released in the fall of 2010, Islam in the United States, has valuable information that everyone should be aware of. You can order this DVD to show at your retreats, Lighthouse and Area meetings, and churches.
As we have seen God expand the ministry in greater ways to include men, it was the consensus of the IBOD that the time has come to amend the language of the Aglow Constitution to include women and men. When that is completed, we will notify you and you will be able to find the new constitution, just as you can find it now, on our website.
Advisors – Male & Female
Aglow has always believed that male advisors bring an important perspective to the ministry. As we walk into this new era of watching the Male/Female Mandate unfold before us, we felt that it was time to look again at the issue of female advisors. As a result, it was decided that a combination of female and male advisors may be appointed by each National Board, Area Team and Lighthouse Team under the guidelines approved by the Board of Directors. Use the current advisor policy in the Digest and Handbooks for each nation. We believe that both male and female advisors will bring an important perspective to the ministry.
Like male advisors, female advisors do not have to be pastors, but can be a woman in your community with wisdom, integrity and the Spirit of the Lord.
We are in the final stages of rebuilding aglow.org. Under the oversight of Rick Allen, Creative Services Director, the new site will have a fresh new look and incorporate improved functionality such as online shopping, translations, discussion boards and better access to news stories. We are excited about the launching of this new site, April 28, 2011.
The Creative Services Office is also currently working on a complete redesign of Aglow’s presence on Facebook. The potential for reaching today’s culture through social media is amazing. Please be praying with us as we continue to move towards maximizing these opportunities. I will have a new Fan Page coming soon on Facebook. If you have been on my group page, you will be invited to go to my new fan page and click “like” to become a part. We will let you know when the fan page is up and running and I invite you all to join me there.
New Worldwide Leadership Materials
New leadership materials have been developed covering the Majesty of God, Sound, and Dominion. Area and National leaders can access the materials by signing into MyAglow and clicking on the Worldwide Leadership Development Materials tab.
Since the close of last year, 5 pieces on Majesty, 2 on Sound, and 2 on Dominion have been developed to assist Area and National Teams as they speak the language of the new season during annual leadership development events. Each piece is available in English, Spanish, and French. Check each month for a new set of materials.
Generations Project Seattle
We are extremely excited about the Generations Project group that has formed here at our Worldwide Headquarters with the young people in our office. We have 9 under 30 years of age and they have been working over the last several months to become a Generations Group. They are doing exciting outreaches and will be producing resources to help you reach the young people in your communities. Watch and expect creative things that will be coming in the next few months.
Lina Thurston of Chile has served on the IBOD for many years and has been a much loved member of that Board. Lina is experiencing health issues and will no longer be serving the ministry in this capacity. Please keep her in your prayers as she valiantly walks this journey towards healing.
Just as Jesus went to John the Baptist asking to be baptized as He was entering a new season, I am asking the Holy Spirit for a fresh baptism of the Holy Spirit to come upon Aglow. Expect to see the lost drawn to your meetings. Expect to see broken hearts made whole. Expect to see your community transformed. The old, dead religious system and its emptiness has been exposed and the freshness of the Kingdom is at hand. Walk in it each day and carry the majesty of His Presence everywhere you go. The Spirit of the Lord is upon you and He has anointed YOU for this day. I believe we all need it for this new season. My heart cries out for it – so expect it – its coming!
P.S. I am so grateful for all the ways you continue to support the Aglow vision and outreach into the world. Throughout our 43 years of ministry, God has touched thousands upon thousands of lives with the power of His love and restoration. Will you please consider giving an additional gift this Easter season to be a part of keeping the miracle alive as we stretch our arms even further?
Dear Aglow Family,
The story of the water being turned into wine in John 2 represents, in its own way, a transitional time in history. Jesus had not yet manifested Himself as the Messiah and had not revealed His glory.
When they ran out of wine at the wedding celebration, the mother of Jesus asked Him to intervene. Evidently, she sensed a stirring in her heart in relation to the timing of this manifestation. In fact, she encouraged the servants saying, “Whatever He says to you, do it.” She did not seem put off by her son’s quiet rebuke, “Woman what does your concern have to do with Me? My hour has not yet come.”
However, because of Jesus’ response we know a shift had taken place in the spiritual atmosphere. He moved seamlessly into action even though He had just told His mother, “The time is not right.”
Jesus said to the servants, “Fill the water pots with water.” And, they filled them to the brim. Then He directed them to, “Draw some out NOW, and take it to the master of the feast.” Can you imagine the quickening heartbeat of those servants as they watched the master of the feast taking his first taste of what they thought to be water? The first words of the master to the bridegroom were, “You have kept the good wine until now!”
This was the beginning of the signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee and hence, a transitional time in history. Nothing would ever be the same. In fact, we are still talking about that miracle today and considering with amazement what Jesus was able to do. Truly, nothing has been the same since.
A Current Day Transitional Time
I believe we have been in another transitional time in history; one that began with the turning of the century. Something shifted as we entered the year 2000. Let me quote from my 2000 conference message.
We have entered a 3rd day season. We are coming into a 3rd day fruitfulness that is going to astound and amaze us. I went on to say, Every new dimension in God requires a new consecration of ourselves. It requires a new altar.
Transitional times are tough. Transitional times can be stressful. What we have known is going to be tested because God wants to take us to another level. The Word says of the Israelites, “The day they ate of the new land, the old provision stopped.”
God had more for them. Yet, the manna that had dropped daily from heaven ceased. Adjustments were necessary. Ways of thinking, speaking, and believing had to shift. The land of promise, the place they had transitioned into, would be a place of milk and honey.
Come Up Higher
In the middle of a crisis there is always an invitation to go up higher. God is taking Aglow higher. He has spoken profound prophetic words to us in many and varied ways. Yet, we find ourselves in a financial shortfall.
As it is with most ministries, the current economic climate has brought with it a downturn in donations. Aglow has had to lay off needed staff, cut costs in drastic ways, and take huge steps to reduce expenditures. As a ministry, we have always budgeted conservatively and spent carefully so that the ministry could continue to move forward in the nations God has given us. But, these past 18 months have been very difficult.
Let me share with you some of the steps we have been forced to take this year and last:
- Asked the building owner to reduce our rent several thousand dollars per month
- Laid off needed staff
- Cut the salaries of the Headquarters Leadership Team
- Cut a portion of program staff positions from full time to half time
- Reduced or eliminated working funds to leaders in over 75 nations
- Cut every department’s budget, some by half. (We already function with a very slim margin.)
- Cancelled the International Board of Directors meeting because of the expense of international travel. Instead, we called together a committee of three on the board to make working decisions, to be approved by the full board via e-mail or conference call.
A New Wine Offering
Today, I am writing to ask if every one of you will help us fill the pots with water so that God can turn the water into wine...the best wine. We currently need $250,000 by March 31, 2010 in order to end our fiscal year in the black.
No Ordinary Plea
We are living in extraordinary times and extraordinary measures are needed. This is no ordinary plea. I am asking every member, officer and friend of Aglow to help this ministry continue in the race that He has set before us.
Will you join with me in increasing your level of giving in 2010?
- Make a onetime personal gift to “fill the pot.”
- Begin or increase your monthly giving.
- Give a gift from your nation, region, area or local treasury.
Your International Board of Directors and Headquarters Leadership Team have all signified they are in unity and oneness of spirit about staying the course with what God has spoken to this ministry, and will continue to walk by faith.
Every new dimension in God requires a new consecration of ourselves. It requires a new altar.
We know He has saved the best wine until last. In the words of Mary, Whatever He says to you, do it!
Aglow has a destiny
We corporately and individually stepped into our destiny in Milwaukee at the North America Conference, Sept 28-Oct 1. Aglow’s destiny is established.
As Aglow International, we are a people with a great calling, a great future, a great destiny, simply because it was and is God’s plan and purpose. Ours is a destiny so deep in the heart of God that time, obstacles, or winds of change are not able to extinguish it or discourage us.
We are to be light in the darkness; hope for the hopeless; His hand extended to a hurting world. Our destiny is upon us and we say “YES” to the Living God.
What is destiny?
Destiny, defined as “moving towards a purposed end,” is a matter of CHOICE, not chance.
It is a thing to be STEPPED INTO, not waited for.
In Milwaukee, the conference theme was Destiny. While in that city, the ongoing REALITY OF OUR DESTINY was unfolding before us and we aligned ourselves with God through prophetic and practical actions. Today I want to give you an opportunity to align with us if you were not at conference by responding to this letter. If you were at conference, you can strengthen and affirm your alignment by also responding.
Here are some words of wisdom:
Watch your thoughts, for thoughts become words.
Watch your words, for words become actions.
Watch your actions, for actions become habits, and habits become character.
Watch your character, for it becomes your destiny.
A shift has taken place. The forces of evil are loud and belligerent—like Goliath the giant, hurling his taunts at the armies of Israel. But a shift has taken place in the divine realm also. We have been positioned for this moment; this season. The David in us has arisen. We are armed and dangerous!
You carry the destiny of your nation.
Last year, Asher Intrater from Jerusalem told us that every nation has two groups of people: The general population, which is seen by God as rebellious to His authority, and the second group, “the remnant,” the true followers of Jesus. The spiritual destiny of a nation is carried by the remnant of believers in that nation. You represent the true destiny of your nation, whether it is the United States, Canada, or whatever your nation is. God looks to the remnant who are the bearers of the national destiny and spiritual purpose of every single nation.
It is the struggle between the positive divine destiny and the negative demonic destiny that constitutes the battle; the spiritual warfare. This is the battle we find ourselves engaged in, but He has made us ready for the battle. The very opposition that God has allowed to come into our lives, or the things that the enemy has brought to our doorsteps, we have allowed to strengthen us, to shape us, to bring us forth in a new victory, in a new strength. We have crossed the threshold into victory. Though we may fall, we will rise with new strength.
A shift has taken place.
God has positioned Aglow and women for this hour. We have felt a shift in the natural, physical forces of the world and in this ministry. The very thing the enemy feared, the very thing he was trying to take out of us, God has built within us with new strength, new vigor, new power, and new authority. Women are arising in this hour.
Alistair Petrie, one of our wonderful anointed speakers in Milwaukee, told us that many of the leaders he knows around the globe are very conscious of the shift that is taking place and we, as believers, need to be in place by the end of the year. He said we need to position ourselves with our destiny; align ourselves with God and the destiny God has for Aglow. We must step into the process of transformation. He said that we may not know our whole destiny, but we need to get into alignment with it anyway.
Alistair went on to say, “God knows what is written in our lives, for us, about us, around us. Somebody needs to take the time and the tenacity to draw down on to the earthly plain what rightfully belongs to them—to their family, their ministry, their business, their city, their nation.”
In Milwaukee, we had the chance to “draw down onto the earthly plain what belongs to us”. We gave financially “to the war effort,” including filling bushel baskets with money. The result was the highest level of individual giving in the history of an Aglow conference. We “stepped into our destiny.” We “marched in review” as the army of women dedicated to God and to Aglow. And, if you’ve seen the conference photos on our website, you see that we also “danced into our 40th anniversary year.” The whole conference experience was rich with eternal prophetic and apostolic meaning and significance.
At the Aglow Worldwide Headquarters, we are taking serious steps to align ourselves with God’s plan by the end of the year. The last 3 “new hires” at Headquarters are women in their 20s. We are stepping into our destiny.
Align yourself by the end of the year.
I don’t want you to be left behind. The army of Aglow is on the move. You need to be on the move too. You can begin by standing up and making a verbal statement to God that you align yourself with Him to step into your personal destiny and the destiny of Aglow.
During past World Wars, citizens made financial commitments to strengthen the war effort. Going to war takes finances, resources, materials. A sure way for an army to experience defeat is to use up its armaments, outdistance its supply lines, and run short of what it needs to keep fighting the enemy. I’m asking you to align yourself with God by giving a significant financial gift to this ministry so we can align ourselves with our destiny by the end of 2006.
I’m also asking you to align yourself with God by renewing your Covenant Partnership, or by becoming a Covenant Partner if you are not one now. We have a beautiful commemorative 2007 40th Anniversary Covenant Partner card for you when you renew or join. If membership is offered in your nation, please be sure you support that as well, but you are also invited to become a 40th Anniversary Worldwide Covenant Partner. You can renew your Partnership of join for the first time by going to our Covenant Partnership page.
We have exciting things happening in Aglow. Part of our destiny includes legions of young women becoming a part of the ministry and adding their spark and sparkle to our lives. We saw them at conference. We also heard and accepted the challenge Reverend Glen Forrest of Canada gave us to “each one bring a young woman to our 40th Anniversary Conference in Seattle, Sept 20-23, 2007.” With invited speakers like Lou Engle, Che Ah, Robert Stearns, Barbara Yoder, and Chuck Pierce and worship leaders like Ron Kenoly, Robert Stearns, Don Potter, Julie Meyer, and our own Ruth Collingridge—everyone will experience the presence of the Lord in very special ways!
And... when you come to Seattle next year, you can visit the Aglow Worldwide Headquarters as one of the “conference tours” of the host city! Virtual tours are nice, but “boots on the ground” are the best!
The Aglow Army is on the move
Between now and the beginning of 2007, many significant things are happening. Evangeline Weiner has accepted a position at Aglow and will be working with us to raise up youth and young women. At 22, she brings experience and wisdom beyond her years. As the daughter of Bob Weiner of Bob Weiner Ministries, founder of Maranatha Ministries, Evangeline has traveled and ministered in over 32 nations and preached with leaders like Rick Joyner, Rodney Howard Brown, Cindy Jacobs and Gary and Lelo Keller of Switzerland. She just graduated from the University of Washington, where she is a Campus Evangelist for City Church of Kirkland, WA. In her spare time she has written a book entitled The Calling of a Generation which will be released this winter. We are very excited about having Evangeline on our team.
Another significant event is the appointment of Sandy Wezowicz, U.S. Regional Director for New England, as the Aglow Watchmen on the Wall Program Director. This program, based on Isaiah 62:6-7, is a part of our call to Israel and is designed to accomplish two things: to raise up passionate intercessors for Israel, and to create informed, articulate ambassadors who will lift their voices in support of Israel in the public forums in their nations.
The original Watchmen on the Walls program created by Robert Stearns of Eagles Wings has been adapted for Aglow’s use, and consists of two parts. The first is a seminar with a teaching a manual for prospective “Watchmen.” The second is a prayer pilgrimage to Israel as a part of an Aglow tour during which individual “Watchmen” are commissioned by members of the Knesset and pray in the land.
Seminars are currently scheduled in the U.S. for January 12-13, 2007 in Lowell, MA; Feb 23-24, 2007, in Charlottesville, VA, March 9-10 in the Great Lakes Region, location TBD; and April 13-14, 2007 in California, city TBD. Registration will be conducted on line on the Aglow Web site, with the fee also to-be-determined. Commissioning will take place during our May 14-27, 2007 trip to Israel—options, prices, and further information also to be forthcoming. A seminar open to international as well as U.S. women is scheduled for September 23-24, 2007, after our 40th Anniversary conference in Seattle, Washington.
Together we’re moving into our 40th year, aligned, united, prayed up, obedient and humble at the great legacy we have in Christ Jesus. It’s our hour! It’s our day! We were made for such a time as this!
Love and blessings,
Jane Hansen Hoyt
What an exciting time to be a believer in the God who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Eph 3:20). What an opportune time to bring a radiant testimony of the God we serve! He is teaching us what it means to live heaven-to-earth. He is forming something new in us.
The things that are taking place today are bringing us into significant alignment with heaven. Get excited! Worship more. Celebrate His goodness because every test and trial you experience is designed to show the superior power of Almighty God over an enemy that has been defeated. You are testimony to that!
My Testimony… Peace In The Midst Of the Storm
Just this past November I heard the Lord speak so clearly to me saying, “Let not your heart be troubled. Believe!” At the time I heard Him encouraging me to believe, I was considering the economic crisis the world is facing. I was thinking of the things we read and hear daily on the news so it made sense to me. “Let not your heart be troubled. Believe!” Little did I know the journey awaiting me or how my faith would be tested. Believe indeed!
Shortly after being encouraged by the Lord to believe, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I went to the doctor thinking, “It’s nothing.” And the doctor said, “It’s nothing.” But then they did a biopsy, and it came back positive.
From the moment I heard the diagnosis of earth, a peace enveloped me. I was not afraid. I wasn’t trying to not be afraid. I wasn’t trying to be strong. I merely chose what I was going to believe. God’s word to me had been, “Let not your heart be troubled. (Don’t be troubled by what you hear. Don’t be troubled by the biopsy.) Believe.” We’re either going to live by the truth of heaven or by what earth declares over us.
I believe God above everything. I said to my daughter, Lisa, “I’m not in denial, but this disease has no place in me. It’s out of place in my body.” I had a choice. Where was I going to live? What was I going to believe? My life is in Him. I’m seated with Him in heavenly places. We’re not in denial. We are walking in truth and light. We are believers. It is our nature.
Each of you reading this letter could tell a story of stress or difficulty you have experienced. It’s the way of life. But God is calling out a people for Himself -- a people who will bring a radiant idea of who He is into the earth.
In Graham Cooke’s book, Qualities of a Spiritual Warrior, he states:
Every situation has been designed for us to discover God’s Presence and find appropriate access, using our circumstances. Confidence in His nature is our entry point…. The weapons of a warrior are essentially peaceful, untroubled and calm…. We overthrow by being overwhelmed (with the goodness of God.)
(Used by permission, Graham Cooke, © 2007, www.brilliantbookhouse.com.)
I have been overwhelmed, personally, with the goodness of God. I am here to bring a radiant testimony of the God I serve. He spoke to me through Psalm 33:
The Lord looks after those who fear Him, those who put their hope in His love. He saves them from death and spares their lives in times of hunger. (New Century Version)
At the direction of the Lord, I kept my situation contained to a few intercessors who prayed militant prayers on my behalf. We have worshipped more than we have prayed for health. We have celebrated His goodness throughout the process. We have come through on the side of victory.
After two surgeries, I have come through with a clean bill of health and no further treatment is needed.
Six weeks following the two surgeries I traveled to Europe to speak at two conferences. One in the Netherlands and the other in Norway. I was in France (May 1-3) speaking at another Aglow national conference. I Believe!
When God says that there will be none feeble leaving our conferences…I BELIEVE. We are coming into a time of increased revelation. This is a time to not be troubled. It is a time to BELIEVE in the God we say we trust. He is pressing us into a place of divine discovery. It is an exciting time to be alive.
It is a Time to Live Prepared
Over the years Aglow has ministered through disaster relief in wars, floods, fires, tsunamis, earthquakes, and hurricanes. About a year and a half ago, we began a program of emergency preparedness in the United States in which state coordinators help people prepare their families and neighborhoods for a disaster. Interested individuals have also taken training to become certified to “go behind the yellow line” to provide help and comfort to victims and emergency responders in actual disasters. We at our Worldwide Headquarters have prepared for a possible damaging earthquake and we have “off site” capability to carry on with the ministry should Seattle be hit.
And God has also prepared us in the spirit for the times we are currently living in. He has said that the darkness would grow darker, but the light would become brighter. We are seeing it come to pass. I have been reminded and blessed once again by the story of Joseph, a man who turned adversity into an opportunity for blessing.
For some time, I have had the sense that we like Joseph, need to prepare to be used in a similar way. With the current indicators of the signs of the times, it could well be a time to lay up provision for what might lie ahead for yourself and your family. Let me suggest some possible ways:
- Plant a garden this year.
- Cut every overhead expense that will keep you caught in an old, broken economic system.
- Have some cash on hand, as well as food, water, medical supplies, and firewood.
And above all… BELIEVE.
We are Believing at Worldwide Headquarters
As so many ministries are doing, Aglow has also had to take measures to reduce expenses, including laying off staff and reducing work hours and salaries. It is with a saddened heart we had to let go of some quality people.
Please keep these former staff members in your prayers as they seek new places of employment. They were valuable to Aglow and to God’s kingdom and we know God will direct them in the days ahead.
Since we had to cut working funds to the nations last year, we have seen many nations coming alongside sister nations to help fund the work. We have also seen purposeful ideas to become more self sufficient come from leaders in some of those nations who had been dependent on working funds. God is our source and we look forward to the fulfillment of the word that we received at the 2008 conference in Washington, D.C. that God is moving us from a place of having our needs met to a place of abundance. Will you believe with us for abundance?
In the midst of these challenges, we are doing everything we know to do to keep moving towards our destiny and future. We are filled with faith and expectancy. Every difficult time is part of the process of moving us from one place to another in order to see His kingdom manifest on earth. I would encourage you to continue to sow your seed into the Kingdom ministry of Aglow. It is not a time to pull back, but to thrust forward. Personally, I have increased what I give to Aglow each month.
Graham Cooke Believes in Aglow!
Let me quote Graham Cooke again, from the dedication of his latest book, Coming Into Alignment, from The Way of the Warrior series. He dedicated this book to Aglow and to all of you who have “faithfully served, women, who by their dedication and commitment have interceded for the church and the Kingdom. Without them we would not have gotten this far!”
What a statement about you! What a treasure you are. What a statement about the work GOD chose to establish in the earth nearly 42 years ago. Thank you for your ongoing faithfulness.
Promise Keepers Believes Aglow International is a Key Partner
In another exciting event, I have been invited to be the first woman keynote speaker at the Promise Keepers’ 20th anniversary stadium event July 31-Aug 1, 2009. I will be speaking on Friday evening, July 31, where PK began at Folsom Field on the University of Colorado campus in Boulder, CO. They are expecting 50,000 men and women and Aglow has been invited to partner with Promise Keepers in this effort to honor women, modeling men and women working together as God intended. This is Promise Keepers’ only 2009 event, “A Time to Honor.” This is their first open invitation to women.
“This year we are calling men to bring the women in their lives,” said Bill McCartney, founder and chairman of Promise Keepers. “We are called to do three things: honor our wives, daughters, and sisters, be a tangible blessing to the poor and oppressed, and embrace our Messianic Jewish brothers as our spiritual fathers in the faith.”
You will be hearing more about this event and Aglow’s involvement in it soon on www.aglow.org. For now, mark your calendar with the date and plan to attend with your spouse. I have been working on a new, updated manuscript of the male/female message and plan to have this book completed in time for this conference. We see this opportunity as a major move forward in God’s plan for gender reconciliation.
Aglow and Men: A Mission Statement Update
For the past several years, we have watched and prayed as men’s Aglow groups have sprung up spontaneously in several nations including the U.S. Their common desire was to seek the same spiritual intimacy with the Father, and with each other, that they saw reflected in Aglow women. We believe Aglow for Men is God’s loving response to the heartfelt needs of men and we welcome this recent move.
Therefore, when our International Board of Directors met in March, a decision was made to change the first bullet of the Mission Statement to include men. It will now read:
- To help restore and mobilize women and men around the world.
As you can see from the Promise Keepers’ unprecedented event this summer, God is moving quickly on men and women to come together side by side. It is the only way we will take dominion on the earth as His bride. We ask that you commit to pray not only for this event, but for God’s unfolding purpose to be so resident in our hearts that we are able to move with Him joyfully through any shift He ordains for Aglow.
A Believing Word About Aglow in Israel
I had the sense for many months that God is wanting to do something different related to Israel. We have so enjoyed our annual trips, yet many of us felt the stirrings of change. As the economic downturn impacted the number of participants, we received this as God’s nudge to cancel the 2009 trip in anticipation of His revealing to us how we are to walk with Israel in this new season.
As I have said before, at the center of God’s plan stand His covenant people and His covenant land. It is essential that we understand and call forth the ancient prophecies and promises related to the critically decisive role Israel plays in God’s end-time purposes.
Believe for Our Worldwide Conference!
Last but certainly not least, I want to invite you to join me and thousands of our Aglow friends and family from around the world in Louisville. Kentucky, Oct 22-25. We received a revolutionary word at last year’s U.S. conference and our 2009 speakers are coming with the word of the Lord. These are men and women of God who hear timely messages for this pivotal hour. This is not a conference to miss. This is a time we need to prepare our hearts and join them together to receive vision for the days ahead. It is a time to grow closer to Jesus than ever before. It is time to bring forth in the earth a radiant testimony of the God we serve.
