Please pray for the nation and people of Sri Lanka as their government has recently fallen. They are in a desperate situation with a lack of food, medications, and gas. Be with the Aglow National Board as they need our prayer support also.
We recently received a report from our Aglow leaders in Sri Lanka. The leaders traveled nearly 150 km to the hill country to conduct a one-day Aglow seminar. The theme was “Arise, Shine.”
Approximately 120 attendees gathered from four different locations in Sri Lanka. These families are from the tea plantations and were hearing the Gospel and coming to Christ. Two messages were shared on how to arise and live an overcoming life in the face of adversity, loss, sorrow, and the difficulties of life. The rural pastors who are supporting our leaders in the Aglow ministry said they had not been exposed to this kind of teaching before and they blessed the Aglow leaders.
During ministry time, a lady shared her personal testimony of how she came out of heathenism. She spoke about deciding to renounce the old, put away the gods, and surrender her life afresh to Him. Many hearts were touched and they came up for prayer.
A local Aglow team has been working with these groups for the past several years and believes that now is the time to affiliate them with the Aglow ministry. Four fellowships have been birthed!
The Sri Lanka National Board shared, “We believe the Lord is leading us to extend His Kingdom in other parts of the country in the midst of the darkness and hopelessness that has gripped our nation.”
