Child with arms raised
Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke?
Isaiah 58:6

Prayer breaks chains and gives favor that is supernatural. It enables rescue and puts people in the right place at the right time.

I'm excited to let you know about a new project we are starting.  Your prayers mean so much to the women and children that Rescue:Freedom serves.  Jeremy Vallerand, President of Rescue:Freedom International, explained how impactful it is to share with those they are supporting that people outside their nation are thinking of them and praying for them.  As many as 1/3 of the children in the homes that Rescue:Freedom supports are orphans.

Knowing that people pray for them is like a lifeline in their world – their world is so small – many have no family and it means so much to know that YOU ARE praying… that people around the world are thinking of them...  So how can you participate in a new opportunity to reach out?  It's easy! Send a card or letter.

We are asking that you would pray over the Rescue:Freedom prayer requests, and send a card or letter to Aglow International Headquarters following the steps below:

  1. Select which safe house you are sending your card to, and indicate it on the envelope

Safe House #1 – This house in Central Asia houses 45 teenage girls who have been rescued from brothels.
Safe House #2 – This house in Central Asia houses 40 young girls who have been rescued from brothels.
Safe House #3 - This house in Central Asia houses 40 young boys and teenage boys who have been rescued from brothels.

  2. Write an encouraging card or letter.

You may send multiple cards/letters, as long as you specify which house each card/letter goes to.  Keep in mind some general guidelines:

    - Let the children know you are praying for them.  In addition to this, you may write a message or just simply sign your name/names of your Aglow group.
    - DO let them know you’re praying for a permanent home for them.
    - DO let them know you’re praying for their education, which is a true hope and lifeline for them.
    - DO encourage them in their potential in Christ, ability to pursue their dreams, their destiny, vision for their life, and that God will raise them up as leaders.
    - DO encourage them in their future- that God has good things in store for them, community, love, and ability to pursue their dreams.
    - DO sign your name and location so they know where the prayers are coming from.
    - DO NOT address their trauma.  Prayers proclaiming freedom from bondage, etc. should be prayed, but not written in these cards or letters.
    - DO NOT address family.  As many as one-third of these children are orphans, and to say you are praying for their family is not something that will apply to everyone.

  3. Take a Picture.  While this step is certainly not required, you are welcome to take a picture of yourself or your prayer group.  It will be nice to show the children who ia praying for them.

  4. Send the card(s) by October 1, 2014.
You are welcome to send more than one card or letter in, but make sure your cards/letters are sent to Aglow International by October 1st.  They will be given to the children, on site in Central Asia, by Rescue: Freedom.

    Send your cards to:
