Tina Marie Brown

After a long day of ministry, Tina Marie Brown, Fairborn Ohio Aglow Lighthouse President, arrived home to find a voice mail on her answering machine from a woman who said she was desperate, lost, and stuck in depression.

The woman said she was at the end of her rope and cried out to God for help. Then she remembered being in Aglow 20 years ago, and how much love was there every time she went to a meeting.  This inspired her to do an internet search to find out if we were still around.  After finding Tina’s name on the Aglow website, she gave her a call.

The message had been left at 11:00 in the morning, and Tina did not receive it until 8:45pm.  Even though she was exhausted from a full day of ministry, Tina felt a gentle prompting from the Holy Spirit to call the woman back right away.

The two spoke on the phone for over an hour.  Tina writes, “I am amazed at the power of the Lord. In our weakness He is strong. The Holy Spirit told me exactly what questions to ask and how to minister to her. She recommitted her life to Jesus and asked God for a fresh infilling of His Holy Spirit. She then began speaking in tongues!”

“As we walked together through breaking the chains of darkness off her life, the despair and desperation left her voice. Then she followed me in a prayer, asking the Holy Spirit to jump start her heart and breathe new life into her.”

“We closed our prayer time by asking God to reveal to her who she is in Christ. She was rejoicing and giddy in the Lord's presence, quite a change from the desperate woman who left the phone message 10 hours earlier.”

“At the conclusion of the call, she said that she knew God was in Aglow many years ago and she hoped that He was still with us today, 20+ years later. She said she will be forever grateful for the ministry of Aglow!  I invited her to a Lighthouse meeting, and got her information to follow up.”

“God knew what this woman needed and sent her to the Aglow International Website. Aglow has made an impact for years and still continues today!”
