Aglow Spain National ConferenceOver 1,200 women from across Spain recently gathered in Madrid to attend the Aglow Spain annual conference.  The theme was ‘One Heart Changed, One Nation Changed’.

The focus of the messages was on every woman personally experiencing the Gospel to transform their environment. This transformation occurs in hearts who know their identity in Jesus, and live it in practical ways in the world around them, whether in the realm of family, school, college, the workplace, or church, or elsewhere.

Another speaker told how God's love transformed the broken lives of children who had been kidnapped and trained to kill or be used as sex slaves. She gave testimonies of lives which had been doomed to destruction, and now are fully restored and building their nation.

The speaker also challenged the participants to take whatever was in their hands, no matter how small, and dedicate it to God. This could be a cleaning lady’s broom, a secretary’s computer, a businesswoman’s check book, or a designer’s creativity.

“I was encouraged and challenged to allow the gospel to transform my inner being, so it is reflected in my outer self to become a tool in God's hands, and to be useful for His kingdom. We were encouraged to allow the Lord to continue to transform our hearts so we can touch this beautiful nation of Spain,” said Itzel Pineda, a participant from Algeciras.

In addition, the conference included two special workshops that shed light on the subject of abortion.  Note: Prior to December 2013 abortion was legal in Spain. In December of 2013 the government approved a law that would ban abortion except in cases of rape, or cases where the health of the mother was at serious risk. The proposal is awaiting approval by parliament.

Ana Giménez, Aglow Spain National President, closed the conference by encouraging every woman to be a transforming agent in her environment, by being a worshiper, sweet as honey, and to have a heart like Jesus.
