You can connect to the Aglow family every moment as we walk the Holy Land each day, beginning with the first day of our tour, April 20, through our last day on April 28. Follow the journey by subscribing to the trip posts on the israelaglowwatchmen.com website.
NOTE: Itinerary is Subject to Change
Tuesday, April 18
- Depart New York, NY (NYC) for your flight to Tel Aviv, Israel.
- Those from other nations depart per your own itinerary.
Wednesday, April 19
- Tour participants arrive in Tel Aviv
Thursday, April 20
- We begin our first full day in Israel with an Opening Session at the hotel with a message from our President, Jane Hansen Hoyt.
- We will then visit Independence Hall where, on the 14th of May in 1948, David Ben Gurion read Israel’s Declaration of Independence, celebrating the restoration of the first nation in history to become a nation again 2,000 years of ceasing to exist.
- Then we will visit historic Jaffa, where Peter received the revelation that God accepted Gentiles into belief in Yeshua, as Messiah. There will be time to visit the many eclectic shops also found in Jaffa.
- Groups will make staggered visits to the Palmach Museum, which tells the story of the Israel Defense Force before and leading up to the creation of the State of Israel.
- At the end of the day we will all meet together on the Mediterranean shore at the Café London for dinner.
Overnight: Tel Aviv, Israel
Meals: Breakfast, Dinner
Friday, April 21
- After breakfast, our first stop will be Caesarea on the Mediterranean coast, which was a center for early Christians. Here Cornelius the Centurion and his household were saved and baptized (Acts 10), and it was also here that Paul made his defense before Festus and King Agrippa prior to his final journey to Rome.
- Then we will travel to Mt. Carmel where Elijah issued his challenge to the false prophets. Your bus captains will lead a prayer time on the roof at Mt. Carmel where you will have a wonderful view of the Jezreel Valley (Valley of Armageddon).
- After lunch, we will travel to Megiddo, also known as Armageddon, a fortress and city built by King Solomon. In the New Testament, it is the site of the “final battle.”
Overnight: Tiberias, Israel
Meals: Dinner
Saturday, April 22 – Shabbat
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- We will board the buses at 8:00am sharp, to visit and tour Midgal, birthplace of Mary Magdalene.
- From there we will go to the Sea of Galilee for a boat ride with worship and singing aboard a replica of the boats used by the disciples.
- Sailing across to Ginosaur, we will visit the ancient “Jesus Boat” – the remains of a 2,000-year-old boat that was discovered in 1986. This boat was used at the time of Jesus and his disciples.
- After lunch, we will visit the Mount of Beatitudes (Matt. 5-8), where Jesus preached the Sermon on the Mount.
- We will end our day at the 2,000-year-old remains of Capernaum (Matt. 4:13 13:54, 17:24, Luke 7, Mark 1:2, John 4:46-54). Here we can stand in what is left of the synagogue in which Jesus ministered. It was from this city that Jesus did most of his Galilean ministry, where he performed many miracles, and where Peter's mother-in-law lived and was healed.
Overnight: Tiberias, Israel
Meals: Breakfast, Dinner
Sunday, April 23
- Breakfast at the hotel.
- (Be sure to bring your bathing suit today if you are going to be baptized or rededicated in the Jordan River.)
- We will drive up to the northern border between Israel and Lebanon and visit with the soldiers that guard this important border. Remember to bring your gifts for the soldiers.
- We will continue on to visit Banias – ancient Caesarea Philippi, where Jesus said to Peter, “On this rock I will build my Church.”
- We will conclude the day with a visit to Yardenit – the wonderful baptismal site on the Jordan River.
- We will then return to our hotel for dinner.
Overnight: Tiberias, Israel
Meals: Breakfast, Dinner
Monday, April 24
- After breakfast, we will gather in groups for the two tour selections.
- One group will travel to the lowest spot on earth, the Dead Sea.
- Once there, via cable car, we will ascend to the summit of the fortress of Masada.
- We will also visit the Ein Gedi Oasis before travelling on to the Dead Sea. Bring your bathing suit and water shoes if you plan to experience the water, as the shore is rocky and the mud in the sea is sticky. Remember not to shave. Sunscreen and hats are recommended. Drink lots of water as the desert is very hot and dry and you can become dehydrated without even feeling thirsty. You can shop at the Ahava store and bring home wonderful products made from the Dead Sea.
- The other tour option is to visit Tzipori (a village and archeological site), Bet Shean (an ancient city that was once part of the Decapolis), and Gideon’s Spring (where Gideon gathered his men before fighting the Midianites, Judg. 7).
Evening: A dinner meeting and briefing with Brigadier General Ilan Sabag.
Overnight: Jerusalem, Israel
Meals: Breakfast, Dinner
Tuesday, April 25
- In the morning, we will drive to the Mt. of Olives and the Garden of Gethsemane.
- Then to the Old City and a visit to the Upper Room.
- After lunch, alternate groups will visit the Temple Institute and the Jewish Quarter, with time to experience both.
Evening: We will enjoy a dinner meeting with Asher Intrater and a team from Revive Israel.
Overnight: Jerusalem, Israel
Meals: Breakfast, Dinner
Wednesday, April 26
- After breakfast, we will travel to Mt. Scopus where we will commission all who have completed their Watchmen on the Wall seminar.
- Then the group, along with the newly commissioned Watchmen, will go up to The Ramparts, the actual wall around the Old City, to take part in a time of targeted prayer.
- We will also view the excavations and the Southern Steps of the Temple Mount.

Diwaniya is an Oprah-style program that discusses many cultural, family, and women’s issues that are taboo in Islamic culture.
The Diwaniya - The Rest of the Story, TV Series started airing in 2000 prior to 9/11. The program is specifically designed for Arab Muslim women throughout the Middle East, Europe, North Africa and North America by presenting the Gospel of Christ in a culturally sensitive manner.
Statistically, almost as many men contact the program as women. A major reason for the program’s broad appeal is that the program – in its Oprah style format – discusses many cultural, family, and women’s issues that are taboo subjects not discussed in Islamic culture (e.g., physical abuse, sexually transmitted disease, homosexuality, singleness.
Within the context of each program the Gospel is presented. Those interested may contact the information center by phone, email, mail or text message. Upon request viewers will receive, program CDs or DVDs, Bibles, study materials, counseling, salvation presentation, connected with church or Aglow, and prayer. The vast majority of those contacting the program are Muslim. The six countries with the highest responses are Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Morocco, Algeria, and Lebanon. See below for a list of episodes to watch.

I am a 28 year old single girl. The Rest of the Story is a wonderful program. I have benefited much. I have big problems I cannot find answers for and I beg you to pray to your God to help me. Thank you

I’m a student from the Law University. Thank you very much for this program because it discusses difficult subjects truthfully and in rightness. You provide important knowledge about neglected subjects. Because of my course of study, this information is very important and helpful – and helps me provide answers to many questions asked. I am interested in helping people find answers and happiness. Thank you to please send the DVDs on these subjects.
- Raymond
I suffer a lot of verbal abuse and bad treatment from my husband. I can’t tolerate it anymore. I felt God was not answering my prayers. Then, I saw your program on this subject (rape and sexual abuse) and your program gave me hope. The lady, Wafaa Louiz, also suffered great abuse and was able to overcome the abuse. I would like to talk with her or someone who can give me advice and help me overcome my abuse. Thank you a lot.

God has given mandates to Aglow International concerning Israel and Islam, the sons of Isaac and Ishmael.
We realize God works in seasons. It is now a season where He has placed Israel and Islam on the world center stage. Biblically, Jerusalem is considered the center of the world and Israel is surrounded by nearly 300 million Muslims.
Kairos is a Greek word meaning a set time appointed by God. This is the Kairos time for the Jewish people and the Muslim people because it is time for harvest.
It is important that we have understanding if we are to effectively pray for them and reach out in the power of God’s love.
In these mandates we are called to inform, instruct and to enlist the body of Christ. Through these pages we trust you will be enlightened and challenged to impact the Jewish and Muslim people for God’s kingdom purposes.

Download Guidelines and Itinerary
Here are some important guidelines to remember for your trip:
- The tour itinerary can be very rigorous and includes extensive walking, climbing stairs, and at times, uneven terrain. It is important to consider these aspects of the tour if you have limitations that would make it difficult to engage in these activities. Due to space limitations, wheelchairs and walkers cannot be taken aboard motor coaches. Individuals with heart disease, chronic illness, physical handicap, advanced pregnancy, or mental illness should not participate in this rigorous travel program.
- Touring as a group: Each bus will have an Israeli guide and driver as well as Aglow leaders serving as bus captains. It is very important to follow their instructions and stay with your group. It can cause everyone to wait if the guides or bus captains must look for someone who is not with the group.
- Appropriate attire: When touring, please plan to wear pants or skirts that come below the knees. Blouses or shirts should keep the shoulders covered because many of the places we visit are considered “religious sites” by both orthodox Jewish and Christian groups. Bare shoulders and knees are considered inappropriate attire. There are a few times whentank tops and shorts are acceptable, for example, when we visit the Dead Sea and Masada on Monday, April 24.
- Sun screen and a hat are a must as it can be very warm and dry in the desert and in many parts of Israel.
- Bring one “wrap” – a light sweater or sweatshirt. The buses are air-conditioned and can get chilly, so having something to wrap around you is helpful.
- Bring comfortable walking shoes – sandals, sneakers…shoes that are not new. There is extensive walking over cobblestones, rough surfaces, up and down steps, and over curbs. Your shoes should be sturdy and comfortable.
- Bring water shoes – for the Dead Sea and the Jordan River. The Dead Sea has a rough gravel shoreline in some places. It also has “medicinal mud” - very black and very sticky! Make sure your shoes are securely fastened to your feet or you might lose them in the mud. People have great fun giving themselves and each other facials with the mud and then taking photos. There are showers on the beach to rinse the mud off and private showers in locker room areas to shower fully. The Dead Sea is extremely salty, so you will want to be careful not to get the water in your eyes. Also, you might want to refrain from shaving if you plan to experience the water – irritated skin can be painful. Again, sun screen and a hat are important.
- Bring your swimming suit. You will have several opportunities to use one – in the Dead Sea if you decide to go swimming (actually floating) and in the Mediterranean Sea. There are swimming pools at several of the hotels. Also, if you wish to be baptized (or rededicated) in the Jordan River, a towel and white baptismal gown is supplied for those getting baptized. However, the gown material is very thin and is transparent when wet. Plan to wear your bathing suit at that time. There are showers in the changing rooms at the Jordan River.
- Gifts for soldiers: A visit to the soldiers guarding Israel’s northern border is scheduled for Sunday, April 23rd. Please plan to bring gifts of toiletries, such as shaving cream, deodorant, toothpaste, and disposable razors, in small travel sizes and quantities. They would also enjoy candies, cookies, and pretzels or snack-type foods (avoid things not listed). The gifts will be collected before arrival and given to the soldiers’ officers to be distributed amongst them.
- Cash for tips: Plan to bring $85 USD for tip money for your guides and drivers. Tips are expected and are not included in the price of the tour. On our Aglow tour, we collect $85 (USD only), from each traveler at the beginning of the trip. After the funds are collected, they are then equally divided between the guides and drivers. As a point of information, it is customary to tip a guide approximately $10 USD per day when on an international tour and an additional amount if you have a guide and a driver. Tips for your hotel room cleaning staff are included in your trip price. You do not need to tip extra unless you experience an especially helpful staff person.
- Exchanging money: You may want to exchange a small amount of US dollars or euros for shekels at the airport or the hotel. However, dollars and euros are readily accepted in many Israeli stores and restaurants. Your change will be given to you in shekels. We don’t recommend buying a large amount of shekels. The US dollar and the euro are roughly equivalent: $1USD = €1 (euro). Current exchange rate for shekels: $1 = a little less than 4 shekels.
- Credit/debit cards: If you plan to use your credit/debit card in Israel, it is wise to notify the credit card company before you leave home so they will honor purchases made while in Israel. If you plan to access an ATM, give your bank the same information about your plans to travel to Israel.
- Cash: In addition to tip money, plan to bring enough cash to cover lunches. (Many places where we may eat lunch don’t take credit cards.) Paying in dollars, euros, or shekels is fine. Plan an average of $7-$12 per lunch. Some lunches might be as low as $5. Others may be more expensive, such as the Saint Peter’s fish in Tiberius. We try to offer you a variety of choices whenever possible. Soft drinks are always extra and are expensive in Israel.
- Water: Because it is very hot and dry in Israel, dehydration is a VERY REAL concern. Dehydration can cause many physical problems ranging from mild to serious: dizziness or lightheadedness, headache, fever, lethargy, confusion, drop in blood pressure. So it is very important to stay hydrated. We suggest you bring a supply of $1 bills or €1 coins to purchase bottled water on the bus. A supply is kept in a cooler at the front of the bus and costs $1 per bottle. You can also fill an empty water bottle at the hotel each morning if you wish, because the tap water at the hotel is fine to drink. Just remember to drink lots of water!
- Carry-on items: Be sure to carry at least one change of clothes and all your necessary medicines in your carry-on bag. Occasionally, your luggage may not arrive in Israel when you do so having a change of clothes can be helpful.
- Electronic devices: New regulations prohibit electronic devices larger than a smart phone in your carry-on. We sent an email containing that information recently, so please refer to that communication. Also, remember to bring chargers and appropriate adapters for your smart phones, cameras, and other devices. We suggest turning off your data plan as international roaming fees can get very expensive. Most hotels have internet – some have Wi-Fi, some are free, some have daily fees for use. Our hotel in Jerusalem has free Wi-Fi. Ask at the reception desk for the code to log in. If your devices require batteries, bring extra with you as they are very expensive in Israel.

The Power of Faith Based Diplomacy
Josh Reinstein
We are living in mysterious yet miraculous times. On the one hand, we have witnessed the most remarkable fulfillment of Biblical prophecy: the Jewish people’s return to Israel and the prosperity and contributions of this tiny country in such a short time. On the other hand, we have seen an unexpected rise in anti-Semitism which takes the form of anti-Zionism and alliances between groups that are fighting against the most fundamental biblical values. The division in worldviews has become starker than ever.
In this book, Josh Reinstein, who through his initiative of faith-based diplomacy is at the center of this tension, takes a unique approach to explaining what lies behind the recent wave of support for Israel and the counter force. He answers important questions to clarify what drives the political actions that we witness today and what path should be taken moving forward.

Unveiling the System…Loving the People!
God has given Aglow International a mandate for the Muslim people, one-fifth of the world population. These followers of the Islamic religion have never known the love of our Father. They are without Christ and therefore without hope. They have no forgiveness of sin and no real assurance of salvation and eternal life.
A mandate is an authoritative order or command, a commission. It also means to entrust, to put into one’s hand. As the ministry of Aglow, we are privileged to be called and commissioned by God to co-labor with Him on behalf of the Muslim people. He has placed this mandate in our hands.
A) 1991
God spoke powerfully at our Aglow International Conference in 1991 in Orlando, Florida:
For you have seen the great darkness and yea, you have said it is a formidable enemy and how shall we penetrate that darkness? For yea, it cloaks the nations, it cloaks the Muslim nations and you say to Me, ‘O Lord my God, those religious beliefs are ingrained and woven into the very fabric of their being and yet, shall they be free?’ And I say unto you tonight, yes, they shall be free. For as it takes only one thread to unravel a garment so shall I unravel the garment of Islam, even as I have unraveled the garment of communism in this hour. Yea, My people, I cry unto you, lay hold of that thread in My power and My might, and we shall disrobe the garment of Islam,” saith the Lord.
In Mantled with Authority, our President, Jane Hansen Hoyt commented:
When I think of the garment of Islam, I think of the burqa, a garment worn by many Muslim women, covering them from head to foot. It is physically, and in a spiritual sense, like a shroud. TIME magazine called it a “body bag for the living.” God began to‛ unravel’ that shroud by showing the world in a very powerful way the condition imposed upon women by a system.
B) 1993
At our 1993 International Conference, Steve Penny, one of the speakers from Australia, confirmed the word from 1991:
I don’t know what happened in 1991 in your Aglow convention, but Jane, I feel the Lord has given me a word for you. In 1991 something of God’s purpose for this ministry was sown into your hearts by the Word of the Lord. Conception took place. Something fresh…something new…something for the ministry began to bubble. This was a new hour for the ministry of Aglow. I feel like the word for this conference is that which is being conceived–is being confirmed by the Spirit of God. Hasn’t yet come to birth. I believe that in a couple of years ahead, there will be a birthing of the things that have been seeded into your hearts, but at this conference, the Spirit of God is confirming, ‘This is what I’m doing. This is My plan.’
C) 1995
A couple of years later, our 1995 International Conference, speaker Rick Joyner, reconfirmed the Islam word when he said:
Now I want to give you an invitation from Him also–an invitation, I believe, to Aglow. I believe it comes directly from the Lord: The Lord will give you Islam if you will take it.
Aglow’s Response to God’s Mandate since 1991
In prayer:
Aglow established ministry-wide prayer thrusts toward the Muslim nations via Prayer Alerts, letters to the field, and e-mail communications from Worldwide Headquarters; ministry-wide prayer and Ramadan prayer.
- Strategic leaders took prayer journeys into Kuwait, Egypt, Israel, and Turkey.
- We established a Strategic Prayer Force and S.WI.F.T. Teams specifically related to Islam.
- We created a tri-fold brochure, How to Pray for the Muslim People, and distributed it to the field.
- We a hold weekly conference prayer call, praying specifically for our mandates; Islam and Israel. We have 75 to 100 intercessors on each call, and reports are then sent to more than 2,000 around the world.
In education:
- Aglow leadership has educated themselves through seminars and strategic meetings with those knowledgeable in ministry to Muslims, including a consultant who is a former Muslim.
- We appointed an Islam Education Director to lead the ministry’s Islam mandate.
- We educated Aglow through resource materials, CDs and DVDs sent to leaders.
- Meetings are held at Aglow conferences and Islamic Awareness Seminars held in many states in the U.S., Australia, Canada and nations in Europe and Africa.
- We established “I” Coordinators in every region in the U.S., Britain, Australia, New Zealand, Switzerland, as well as the development of a training manual for coordinators that has been distributed internationally.
In outreach:
- Aglow has held strategic prayer walks and outreaches in Dearborn, Michigan, which has the most significant Muslim population of any U.S. city and London, England, 2nd highest concentration of Muslims in Europe.
- Aglow helped produce more than 150 television programs in Arabic geared to Muslims. These programs are aired via several satellites in Europe, the Middle East, North Africa and by live streaming and internet around the world. In addition, the program reaches 12 million homes in North America by satellite, public access and Christian TV. These programs continue to have great response at our Response Center from a potential audience of more than 120 Arabic million households on Arabic TV.
- Aglow members around the world continue to reach out to Muslims in their nations.
Aglow has seen an increase of ministry activity in Muslim nations
- Prior to 1991, Aglow was active in 8 Muslim nations.
- Since 1991, Aglow has become affiliated in 36 Muslim nations.
- In nations throughout the world Aglow men and women continue to reach out to their Muslim sisters and brothers with the healing, restoring love of Jesus Christ.
This “THREAD” God has given to Aglow is so powerful that if we let the Lord open our eyes and respond to the opportunities He is giving us – the strongholds over minds will continue to be broken. The incredible light of Christ WILL break and dispel the power of darkness. It is exciting that Muslims are coming to Christ in an unprecedented way. In fact, world mission organizations report that more Muslims have come to Christ in the past 10 years than the first 1400 years of Islam! Continue to stand with our Lord on their behalf, pray . . . and watch God “unravel the garment” of Islam.
Because it is a mandate . . .
Aglow has three “Mandates,” Male - Female Reconciliation, Islam and Israel. In the 1990’s, God began to prepare Aglow to receive His mandate for Israel. A mandate is an authoritative order or command, a commission. It also means to entrust, to put into one’s hand. As women and men of Aglow, we are privileged to be called and commissioned by God to co-labor with Him on behalf of Israel and the Jewish people.
As early as 1992, a word came comparing Aglow to Esther, an ordinary Jewish girl who risked all to stand in the gap against a Haman spirit that was committed to the annihilation of the Jewish people. Down through the ages the spirit of Haman has been manifested over and over again. In recent history, its resurgence came through Adolf Hitler and the Nazi regime, culminating in the holocaust which murdered 2/5 of world Jewry. Today radical Islam provides the fertile soil in which the Haman spirit finds a full expression of its evil intent- the destruction of Israel and the Jewish people.
In June 2001, the call to Israel upon Aglow was confirmed by leaders in the body of Christ who serve outside of the ministry of Aglow. At the All Nation’s Convocation in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, several prophets and apostolic leaders, including Don Finto, James Goll, and Tom Hess, called Jane out of the audience and laid hands upon her, praying and prophesying in relation to the call to Israel.
It was a public impartation, a public setting apart, and a public anointing for Israel – not for Jane alone, but for the entire ministry as well. The word declared that, as her eyes were being opened to the purposes of God for His people, so would the eyes of those “under her charge” be opened as well. The word continued that there would come, through Aglow, a new injection into the global prayer movement and that the ministry would be instrumental in calling forth a “massive, corporate day of repentance” for Replacement Theology in the Body of Christ.
From our first corporate trip to Israel in July 2000 to the present time we have continued to stand as watchmen in loving support of the people and the nation. We have experienced the unfolding revelation of God’s purpose for Aglow in His sovereign plan for Israel and for the Jewish people. (You may order the DVD “Aglow in Israel: Destiny Unfolding” for a more comprehensive overview.)
Over the last decade God has enlarged the scope of the expression of the Israel mandate. Our Watchman on the Wall for Israel program is committed to educating and activating Aglow men and women to be effective intercessors and advocates. We continue to strengthen our relationship with the secular, religious and Messianic communities. As prayer is one of the foundational pillars of Aglow we have been entrusted to stand in the gap for the destiny of that nation and her people. This is our Esther call: for such a time as this!
Because we are Abraham’s off-spring by faith ...
In Genesis 15 God made an everlasting irrevocable covenant with Abraham and his offspring. Paul, in Romans 4, writes that by faith we become heirs as spiritual sons and daughters in all the blessings that the covenant relation with God brings. As Christians, we are the wild olive tree grafted into the natural olive tree, Israel, which Paul described in Romans 11:24. Our ancient Christian roots are firmly established in rich Hebraic soil through Abraham. It is the root of the natural olive tree that nourishes and sustains us as the engrafted spiritual sons and daughter of Abraham. Because of this adoption we have become entitled to the full covenant blessings.
As Aglow men and women we believe the Bible is the Word of God, fully inspired and written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and is our rule of faith and practice. Therefore, as scripture commands, we give love, support and honor to the Jewish people because they are the ones to whom “pertain the adoption, the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law, the service of God and the promises; of whom are the fathers and from whom, according to the flesh, Christ came, who is over all” (Rom.9: 4-5).
Because we recognize the prophetic destiny of Israel and the Jewish people!
God is a God of redemption. The Bible is the love story of God’s great plan of redemption for a fallen world and His relationship with the nation of Israel and the Jewish people is central to that story. They are the vehicle God has chosen to bring about His plan of restoration for mankind which will culminate in establishing His Kingdom reign on earth, ushering in the return of Christ. Israel and the Jewish people have a significant role yet to be completed.
Aglow stands in covenant relationship with the Body of Messiah. We recognize that they are key, not only to Israel and the Jewish people coming into their full prophetic destiny, but also to the Church coming into her full inheritance. “Now if their (the Jewish people) fall is riches for the world, and their failure riches for the gentiles, how much more their fullness” (Rom. 11:12).
Because God has entrusted us with this high calling, Aglow is committed to continue strengthening the Body of Messiah, to be a watchman over the whole house of Israel and to stand in the gap, calling forth all He has promised for that nation, the Jewish people, and for His Church.
