The Power of the Spirit for World Evangelization
Everything that Jesus did in His ministry was in the power of the Spirit. He came to show a new way of living through the Spirit’s power. The Old Testament had been about “visitation,” but now the New Testament was about “habitation,” which would bring a new Kingdom reality to the early believers.
Prior to the ascension of Jesus, as He sat together with the disciples He again began to expand their understanding about the purpose of the Kingdom of God. This was not something that would be contained within a single nation or people group, specifically, the Jewish people. A mighty commissioning and outpouring of the Spirit was about to shift things forever! A great campaign of world-wide evangelization was being launched as Jesus was about to transfer the power and responsibility that had authorized His ministry to His disciples.
Acts 1:4 And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, which you have heard from Me.
Acts 1:8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.
FROM JERUSALEM TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH
Witnesses? To the ends of the earth? But we’re just local guys! How could this be?
Just as the apostles of that day received instruction to wait in Jerusalem to be endued with the power of the Holy Spirit they were also told that the promise regarding the fulfillment of Kingdom expansion would flow out of Jerusalem, beginning with them and it would ultimately go to the ends of the earth, just as Jesus said.
Today, in Jerusalem, some 2000 years later, there are apostles being raised up with that same power of the Spirit and with the same vision burning in their heart to see the Word of the Lord going out of Jerusalem again in these latter days, because the Kingdom of God is at hand.
Aglow International, a ministry that was birthed out of a powerful move of the Spirit in the late 1960’s carries that same vision and purpose of taking the Kingdom of God to the ends of the earth. Today we are in approximately 170 nations with an estimated 17 million people being touched annually. Witnesses….to the ends of the earth, just as Jesus said.
WEALTH OF THE NATIONS TO ESTABLILSH YESHUA’S KINGDOM
Let me share with you an insight from Asher Intrater of Revive Israel, an Apostle and a Messianic Israeli believer, related to the provision that will come to accomplish this global commission.
There is a connection between a premillennial fulfillment of Isaiah 60 with the restoration of the Messianic Jewish roots of the Acts 1 and 2 commission.
Isaiah 60 starts with the prophecy, “Arise, shine for your light has come! And the glory of the Lord has risen upon you.” It goes on to say that darkness will cover the earth, which would at least be partially pre-millennium because there won’t be darkness covering the world during the millennium.
Who will the light shine upon? The nation of Israel. The true international Church. The Messianic remnant of Israel.
Isaiah 60 goes on to state an incredible promise that the “wealth of the nations” will come to you. To whom is that to be fulfilled and how? It would be to the same combination of Israel, the Church, and the remnant.
For what purpose should all that money come?
God has given us the mandate to restore and complete the great commission of world evangelism from Acts 1 and world revival from Acts 2. He utterly intends for that to take place. But it would require finances for the communication, administration, and infrastructure to do it.
The wealth of the nations to come to finish the work of Yeshua’s Kingdom in this age and to prepare the way for Him to return makes sense, Biblically, logically, and morally.
God created the wealth in Genesis and it was all transferred into Joseph’s hands in Egypt. Then it was transferred again into Moses and Joshua’s hands and finally into David and Solomon’s hands…all for the purpose of establishing His Kingdom.”
Asher went on to refer to the prophetic, apostolic alignment, positioning and commissioning that Aglow laid hold of by faith while in Jerusalem, saying, “ It has brought you into a Kingdom Covenant connection with Yeshua’s seat of earthly authority that should mean you are connecting also into the Isaiah 60 promises of the coming of the wealth of the nations.”
The wealth of the nations is to finish the work of Yeshua’s Kingdom in this age, to prepare the way for Him to return, and it is for the pure purposes of establishing Yeshua’s throne in Jerusalem.
Let’s call for the wealth of the nations to come!
Let’s go to the ends of the earth in the power of His Spirit… just as Jesus said!
