Revelation Brings Reordered Thinking
When a truth breaks into your life, in terms of the nature of God, you will find that everything has to come to a place of being reordered!
Revelation shifts everything. Revelation is a truth that comes to us with something we have not seen before and it has the potential of setting us free and reordering our lives. With the first rush of seeing a new truth about God you often may feel “carried along with that truth” in such a way that walking in the application of it almost seems effortless. The ability to walk in that truth, and the discovery of other linked truths surrounding it, causes you to reorder your thinking about many things. It is a glorious experience.
CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIES
There is another side to that reality. Challenges come our way. It can seem that the wonderful new truth is being trod under foot by something that occurs. What happened to the ease with which we were walking in this? Let me encourage you to not be thrown off balance by this occurrence. Hold steady. The truth is being formed within you in a deeper, more bedrock way. Something great is being activated that will bring great glory to God.
CHALLENGED BY THE ENEMY OR BY HEAVEN?
When challenges come, are we being challenged by the enemy or by Heaven? A quick response would probably be the enemy. However, as a child of God, I believe that nothing can challenge us but Heaven. As His people, we are here to bring Heaven to earth and to express who God is and what He is like! Therefore, everything that comes to me is for that purpose.
Let me paraphrase a conversation that Moses had with God in Exodus 33 and 34. Moses, in essence, was saying to God, “You tell me that You know me by name and I have found grace in Your sight. But, I want to know You by name also. So, please, show me Your glory!”
The Lord responded by saying, “I will make all My Goodness pass before you, and I will proclaim the Name of the Lord before you.” This encounter with God and His Goodness opened Moses up to all the claims of God and about who He essentially is!
PURSUED BY GOD’S GOODNESS
Understanding God’s Goodness and the truth that you can only be challenged by His Goodness brings an upgrade of gigantic proportions! That truth will catapult you into a whole new, wonderful place in your understanding about God and therefore, your relationship with Him. It did Moses!
What does it mean to be pursued by Goodness?
It means that our inner pre-disposition has to be transformed and reprogrammed to live, think and speak from a different Kingdom. We often excuse our behavior, saying, “Well, this is a family trait. It is part of my DNA - or I am Norwegian or Irish or whatever, so I am this way.” The truth is that when you became a believer, your old man was crucified with Jesus and you became a new creation. The old has passed away and everything has become new. That is truth. Now we start the process of learning how to live out of the new man and not the old.
No more excuses! Those places we used to go in our thinking have to change. Worry, anxiety, sensitivity, shame, feeling as though you never measure up…and the list goes on.
An important aspect of how we progress into the future is our getting closure on the “old nature.” We have to come to the place of knowing that the old man is really dead. It is over, finished. A new life has begun.
The Holy Spirit is aligning us with the nature and the truth of who God really is.
God is lifting us into a whole new dimension. We get there by living out of a renewed mind. The heart of the Gospel is that you were given a whole new identity and a new nature.
Your life is being reordered to bring glory to God. Arise to your new life!
