To fast has traditionally meant to abstain from all or certain foods.  Fasting has been practiced for specific reasons by God's people since ancient times: for repentance, for guidance, for sorrow and grief.  Jesus, the Bread of Life, is our spiritual food in times of spiritual hunger. 

In the first part of this study, we looked at the history of fasting in the Bible and discussed some of the reasons Christians and Jews have fasted through the ages.  In this part, we will continue to look at additional reasons.

The picture of the ever-faithful shepherd who meets all our needs is a familiar one to Christians.  Shepherding has played an important role in the life and economy of the Israelites since the days of Adam and Eve.

In the first part of this study, we concentrated on the shepherd.  In the second part, we want to better see the relationship between the shepherd and his sheep, how he cares and protects the flock, even at the cost of his own life.

To understand what the Bible means when it speaks of our authority in Christ, it is necessary for us to fully understand who Christ is, who He was before He was born on earth, what His sacrificial death accomplished, and what He is doing today.

In the first part of this study, we looked at several aspects of Jesus' authority.  In this second half, we will look at the principle of delegated authority and how it applies to us. 

As Christians, we are engaged in a spiritual war between Jesus and His armies and that of Satan and his hordes.  Jesus, as our commander, has provided us with the weapons and armor necessary for war.  Our duty is to pick them up and put them on.

In the first section of this study, we began to look at the armor and weapons the Christian soldier's commander equips him with.  In this part of the study, we will look at the rest of his equipment.
