Jane's December 2006 Letter

Dear Ones,

It is a busy season, but a season we all appreciate and enjoy so much. I love the lights, the sounds, and the smells of Christmas, don’t you?

I have been particularly touched by the number of people who are struggling in various ways, this year. One such friend, whose husband has been out of work for many months, was just advised of a tax oversight and, hence, a large payment that is due immediately. This is at the end of a year that’s been filled with physical pain due to a couple of recent injuries. This is only one such story. I know we are all aware of many who are struggling with ongoing needs. This time of year seems to exacerbate such troubles.

BUT WE HAVE A SAVIOR! A REDEEMER! A DELIVERER!

I have been spending time in the Book of Ruth this past month. As you know, this is considered the “crown jewel” of the Old Testament. It is a poignant, fascinating, emotionally gripping story which points to the redeeming work of Jesus Christ, who was to come. The story begins with famine, death, and loss…..but it doesn’t end there!

Ruth found her way to her “field of dreams!” As she was gleaning in the corner of the field, the one who was to be her kinsman redeemer took notice of her. He spoke, not to her, but ABOUT her to a servant. Imagine, while she is still gleaning in the field, still gleaning as a widow, still eating others’ leftovers, her redeemer was taking note of her to reverse her situation.

You know what the Lord spoke to me? “I’ve never intended for you to live on leftovers!” What He intends for us is to own the field!!

While Ruth was unaware that Boaz had even noticed her, God was working in the background through him to turn her situation. Let me say to you today, HE HAS NOTICED! HE SEES. HE KNOWS. Your Kinsman Redeemer has been talking about you to the Father. Let your heart take courage. If you are struggling in any way, just know: things are turning.

As I speak this word to you today, I am aware of a need in Aglow’s finances. Giving has plummeted these past couple of months and we are at a place where we, too, are looking to our Savior, our Deliverer. Would you please consider sending a year end gift to Aglow International? I know that you are aware that we are exceedingly careful with our funds, but it takes considerable finances to keep a ministry of this size going. I appreciate your love, your heart, and your faithfulness to Aglow more than I can express.

As we head into a New Year, 2007, I want to declare that it is a year of JUBILEE! Many have been waiting for “your stuff” to come. Things you have prayed for, things you need. Alistair Petrie said in Milwaukee that things needed to be in place within 3 months. That would be the end of December. I have seen things shift and move in some pretty significant areas. Each time I am aware of God putting things in place!

BE PREPARED FOR A WONDERFUL YEAR OF GREAT TESTIMONY. IT IS THE YEAR OF JUBILEE!

Thank you for helping us over the hump at this year’s end.

Love and blessings,

Jane Hansen
