Testimonies from Madagascar:

Our leader, Bodo Ramaroson writes….

  1. Noeline is overwhelmed by the glory of Jesus manifesting Himself for the sick: a young girl who had to stay in bed was delivered and healed after several days of prayer. Also, a child in hospital who had not eaten or moved got up to play the same afternoon he was prayed for.
  2. Deny: Her brother was having difficulty finding work.  In spite of interviews and tests nothing happened. Following the prayers at the Thursday afternoon meeting, the same evening he got a job contract. Deny is really convinced that the Lord listens to us and answers our prayers. God is faithful.
  3. Lynda and Hoby have been praying in tongues, Hoby for four months and Lynda for two weeks.  After this blessing, Lynda and her husband have been constantly blessed financially in spite of the recession they can sell their computers without difficulty. Her husband is convinced that the Lord is with her.  At the beginning, her husband was afraid when she prayed in tongues. Now it isn’t an issue any more, he is even the one who encourages Lynda to pray in tongues.  She had been ill for two months, and was administered various treatments and systematic checks. She thanks the Lord every day, she no longer takes any medication and has no pain. Since this blessing she has been healed. Sometimes in the streets she would pray in tongues and couldn’t stop. She is happy…
  4. Hanitra: the message from God she received on the first Thursday (May 28, 2009) was exactly what she needed that day for an important interview. She saw the glory of Jesus during the interview.
  5. Jacqueline: This was the day she came to the Thursday meeting for the first time. Jesus has restored her heart and she has accepted she is a mother and housewife. She left with the Love of the Lord.
  6. One woman was especially blessed during her business trip in France.  She lived under the protection of God’s hand – He blessed everything she did. From the time she left Tana, the Lord miraculously gave her all her expenses and costs. During her stay, God showed her that He looks after her, from the small things she needs through to the goal of her mission which was selling goods.

The Lord’s mercies never fail, they are new every morning.  Great is His faithfulness!  To God alone be the glory!

Rwanda: On January 7-8, 2009 Aglow International-Rwanda held a two day Leader’s retreat to officially start the implementation of the Aglow Rwanda committee members teaching ladies in rural areas about caring for themselves, and with God’s help, trying to transform their lives into better ones.events stated that will kick off this year’s activities. The main purpose of the retreat was to check last year’s action plan, and to draft a new Aglow Rwanda 2009  plan.  Also to agree on the approach of 2009 activities, to prioritize the activities, to set time frames and to allocate individual roles among the board members and obviously to unite in prayer. The retreat took place at Magnolia Lodge Kiyovu in Kigali.

The two main objectives decided upon were:

  • To help Rwandan women to become role models for women as a Christian, a mother and also as a spouse.
  • To help Rwandan women in rural areas to improve their social and economic life as well as their spiritual life.

Aglow Rwanda has plans of expanding to every province of the country.

Botswana: Mahalapye Chapter - "We started off with an all night prayer to commit all the activities to the Lord. It was followed by a prison visit. We had a good time with both the male and female prisoners.  The word of God was shared with them and the Aglow women blessed them with toiletries. The prisoners thanked the Aglow women for visiting them and they commented that they are happy because there are women out there who care about them and that we should continue to show that love by visiting them continuously.

In March we made a visit to the hospital. We visited the male, female and children’s wards. We prayed and shared a word of encouragement with them. Gifts of snacks were given to the children and toiletries to the elderly people.

We also did 3 outreaches to Dovedale. In the first meeting we prayed, shared the word, and prayed for the sick. The second visit was specifically for elderly people. We moved from house to house, shared the word, and led them to Christ. We gave them toiletries, snacks, and refreshments to distribute. They were so happy.  They said that they had never experienced such love before. They never thought there were people who cared about old people. The last visit was meant for all but that day the community hall was full of children, and there were only four elderly people. Since we had the presence of Sunday school teacher, Sister Malebogo, we changed our program and handed the meeting over to her to share what the Lord had laid on in her heart. We had 4 bags of oranges offered by Pastor Ronelle of which we gave to the children after the meeting. We also had clothes, which we gave to orphans and one family whose house was destroyed by fire.

We agreed to donate blankets to the needy, and are planning to give them out some time in 2009.

Our breakfast meeting was held on the 31st May. It was very powerful. Our guest speaker was Pastor Doreen Moreosele. We had a wonderful day .Amongst us were Pastors from different churches who contributed a lot spiritually and materialistically.  Pastor Mnikwa, our advisor, was there. Our Aglow National President, Pastor Beauty Bogwasi, sister Sefelepelo,  and our national treasurers were also there. After the breakfast we had a training session organized by our National President Pastor Beauty Bogwasi. Our 2008 plan had many outreaches and follow ups, but most of them failed due to lack of transport. By the grace of God we shall overcome."

Burundi: Aglow Burundi is reaching out in many ways in their nation.  They visit in hospitals two days a month, in prisons once a month, and in orphanages twice a year.  They joined Aglow Rwanda and held an “Agape Party” in February of 2008.  280 women attended this powerful meeting of restoration.
