September 2005 International News Report

AMERICAS

Guatemala: Aglow Guatemala reports an exciting event being planned in Guatemala City. October 1 they will hold a conference at the Tkal Futura Hotel for 1,000 people, with Nicky Cruz as one of their speakers. The conference theme is “Strong Generations, in Difficult Times” Psalm 112:2.

AFRICA

Democratic Republic of Congo: 2,000 attend day of praise and worship in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of  Congo on August 11, 2005.  The hotel meeting place was set up for 1,000, but to the planner’s astonishment, twice that number attended and many sat on the floor.  During the worship their where reports of many deliverances.

Namibia: “Namibia Aglow is Spreading Like Fire”, these are the words of Aglow leader Batseba Kaimu Hengar in Namibia.  A recent visit to two villages reaped a harvest for 44 souls for the Kingdom.  Some of the women, who were engaged in drug dealing, came forward and confessed their sins and requested to be prayed for.  Almost every week-end, Aglow leaders are on the road sharing the message of salvation in Jesus Christ and sharing the Aglow vision.  Their next planned trip by road will be over 1,000 miles.  They have requested prayers for financial, moral and physical support.

Zimbabwe: Holy Spirit Revival in Wedza, Zimbabwe - Three weeks fasting preceded the Retreat and Leadership Training help in Wedza, September 23-24, 2005.  The retreat started on time but finished late because the Holy Spirit took over completely.

The first speaker received a word that the time together was to take a different course of action immediately and teaching was to be given on the baptism by the Holy Spirit and those that did not speak in tongues.

After an hour of teaching by four different Aglow leaders, 59 people received the Holy Spirit and stood with outstretched arms for hours, crying and speaking in tongues.
This session went on until Friday Evening.  When teaching on the Holy Spirit continued on Saturday morning, another alter call was made and 103 received the Holy Spirit.  Many Healings and deliverances also took place during this time.

With three weeks of fasting preceding this event, it is not surprising there was such a move of God. He is surely doing something in the  Wedza District. Each of the 2 Chapters and 9 Candlelights present gave a report of how God is working through their different fellowships in a tremendous way. Zimbabwe National Board President, Eggrinah Kaliyati said, “Our lips were dry and cracked as we were totally amazed and moved by what God is doing.  What is more humbling is  the zeal that is coming from these simple village women who when you look at them, need help themselves and yet they are doing so much for their communities , even in these economic hardships Zimbabawe is going through.”  Leadership Training will come at a different time; when it fits God’s agenda!

EUROPE

Netherlands:  The Lord spoke to the Aglow leadership that “for 25 years you brought women to Jesus, now is the time to bring Jesus to the women.” Aglow in Holland is responding with many wonderful activities to bring Jesus to women:

  • They organize beauty parties for special groups of women who are poor and lonely.
  • They have prayer stations on the street in some cities.
  • They organize courses in special areas of the city about inner healing, creativity, etc.
  • They hold events such as brunches, and movie evenings.
  • They are going to start a meeting point for Christian women and Muslim women.
  • They have an Aglow group for the deaf, called Deborah Aglow. It’s always moving to see how they sing and worship the Lord with no sound.
  • Young Women’s Aglow, for women from 16-30 years, is very active. They have their own conferences, and days they call “shelters” where they meet monthly.
  • They organize humanitarian help for Israel.
  • They are planning a special conference for married couples in January 2006.

Estonia:  The Lord has told them to build a bridge (in the spirit) between Estonians and Russians, and to bring hope to deserted areas.

Britain: Britain Aglow has active prison ministry in 6 prisons in the nation!  There were an estimated 2,000 Aglow outreaches held by Local Aglow groups during the last year, reaching about 54,000 women.

Switzerland: At their recent leadership training seminar a large word came forth for Aglow in this small nation:  “I will do great things in those days and show my power through you. You shall take the land. It’s time to dethrone darkness. This happens in my Presence. Only when you are totally one with Me. My body is broken and wounded. Come and get healed yourself first and then go and free others from bondage in my authority an teach them to keep ALL I have told you. It all begins with you. I love you. I’m waiting. My heart is sad, because time is short. Work as long as it is day. Arise and be light. Reflect My light. People must get saved, you are my body, my hands, my mouth, my feet! Arise and take your place.”

Belgium-French: They are already working on plans for their conference in 2007. For the first time ever, the Belgium-French and Belgium-Flemish will unite for a bi-lingual national Aglow conference. This is a very large undertaking. Please remember these leaders in your prayers.

France: Some of the French Aglow groups hold meetings in a deprived area of the city with a largely Muslim population. Some others hold quarterly meetings in a women’s prison, or hand out evangelistic material on the street, in the metro and in a shopping mall.
