Three Aglow leaders – Fran Hallgren, Rindy Reeves and Robin Hardin, representing Aglow Transformations, have joined with two other ministries for evangelism outreach to Uganda and Ethiopia. The following letter was received from Fran on June 12.
June 12, 2009
We are overnighting in Kampala tonight. We will catch the flight to Ethiopia in the morning. A special dinner was held tonight, as we will part from our Uganda team members now. They have been wonderful; they do much hard work and are on call at all times. We collected and then presented gifts to each one of them. It is hard leave them.
I'm not sure we mentioned this before, but this is an international team with members from the U.S. (which includes Rindy, Robin and myself) as well as an Ethiopian woman, a Japanese man, and two of my favorite people from the Philippines (Pastor Jill Boyonas and Jerry Sala) with whom we (Aglow) works with when we do missions to the Philippines. Pastor Godfrey, head of the Ugandan team, acknowledged the Aglow women publicly, as did Jonathon Morris. It has been a privilege for us to do this work; and a wonderful and useful time of learning for us as well.
In this venture, we have come alongside CMC (Church Multiplication Coalition) under the leadership of founder Jonathon Morris, to do ministry in some extremely remote places...villages which we can hardly pronounce...and which are unaccessible except by foot. We have some lovely videos of trekking through the jungles, up the mountain, to get to people who have never seen a missionary, or a white person, or a Filippino! Some times foks were scared of us, but usually curious and friendly. Even our Ugandan team did not know the language. But with the help of a local interpreter, the Good News of Jesus Christ was preached and many received Jesus as their Savior in these little villages.
I will report more on this when we get home; but I will say now, that all 3 of us have been on the platform, giving warm greetings in the Name of Jesus Christ, testimonies, and of course, prayers for all.
We have visited over a dozen schools, some with 1000 students. We present Bible stories (acted out-Robin does a great Lion for Daniel), do the EvangeCube presentation, sometimes testimony, and prayer for all teachers/staff. I cannot count how many did so over the course of 5 days! Every place we went, we were received well!
One day we went to a clinic and prayed for every single person there. Robin went to the children's ward, Rindy to the maternity ward, and myself to the general women's ward. Though some were Muslim, they let us pray for them. We also prayed for any family that was there with the sick person and hospital staff. AND we left gifts of soap and bags of sugar for each patient. (The men on our team went to the mens' ward.)
Another highlight was the prison we visited (also leaving soap and sugar). Robin and I were delighted to be able to pray with the women in the prison. As we presented the Salvation story via EvangeCube, you could see conviction coming over the women. Even 'the hard one' let us pray for her. And again, we left gifts of soap and sugar.
We have long days beginning with devotions at 6:40 or 7 am, have done plenty of hiking on tiny red dirt trails, going up the mountain and through the jungles or mountainside fields of corn and cabbages. We usually get back for dinner between 8:40 an10:00 pm. Robin has been doing an outstanding job of capturing everything on video.
So now, dear intercessors, please pray as we go into Ethiopia. None of us really knows what to expect there. But it is very clear that the Lord decided that this team should go there.
as we head to Ethiopia to do more of this glorious work. Lord of the Harvest, lead the way! To God be all the glory for the success of this mission. With love,Fran

African nation in the 10/40 window: Our leader writes, "In our first public meeting, 35 of the 56 in attendance were Muslim women. ALL THE MUSLIM LADIES PRAYED the prayer of salvation. Praise be to God!"
Rwanda: On January 7-8, 2009 Aglow International-Rwanda held a two day Leader’s retreat to officially start the implementation of the events stated that will kick off this year’s activities. The main purpose of the retreat was to check last year’s action plan, and to draft a new Aglow Rwanda 2009 plan. Also to agree on the approach of 2009 activities, to prioritize the activities, to set time frames and to allocate individual roles among the board members and obviously to unite in prayer. The retreat took place at Magnolia Lodge Kiyovu in Kigali.
The two main objectives decided upon were:
Aglow Rwanda has plans of expanding to every province of the country.
Botswana: Mahalapye Chapter - "We started off with an all night prayer to commit all the activities to the Lord. It was followed by a prison visit. We had a good time with both the male and female prisoners. The word of God was shared with them and the Aglow women blessed them with toiletries. The prisoners thanked the Aglow women for visiting them and they commented that they are happy because there are women out there who care about them and that we should continue to show that love by visiting them continuously.
In March we made a visit to the hospital. We visited the male, female and children’s wards. We prayed and shared a word of encouragement with them. Gifts of snacks were given to the children and toiletries to the elderly people.
We also did 3 outreaches to Dovedale. In the first meeting we prayed, shared the word, and prayed for the sick. The second visit was specifically for elderly people. We moved from house to house, shared the word, and led them to Christ. We gave them toiletries, snacks, and refreshments to distribute. They were so happy. They said that they had never experienced such love before. They never thought there were people who cared about old people. The last visit was meant for all but that day the community hall was full of children, and there were only four elderly people. Since we had the presence of Sunday school teacher, Sister Malebogo, we changed our program and handed the meeting over to her to share what the Lord had laid on in her heart. We had 4 bags of oranges offered by Pastor Ronelle of which we gave to the children after the meeting. We also had clothes, which we gave to orphans and one family whose house was destroyed by fire.
We agreed to donate blankets to the needy, and are planning to give them out some time in 2009.
Our breakfast meeting was held on the 31st May. It was very powerful. Our guest speaker was Pastor Doreen Moreosele. We had a wonderful day .Amongst us were Pastors from different churches who contributed a lot spiritually and materialistically. Pastor Mnikwa, our advisor, was there. Our Aglow National President, Pastor Beauty Bogwasi, sister Sefelepelo, and our national treasurers were also there. After the breakfast we had a training session organized by our National President Pastor Beauty Bogwasi. Our 2008 plan had many outreaches and follow ups, but most of them failed due to lack of transport. By the grace of God we shall overcome."
Burundi: Aglow Burundi is reaching out in many ways in their nation. They visit in hospitals two days a month, in prisons once a month, and in orphanages twice a year. They joined Aglow Rwanda and held an “Agape Party” in February of 2008. 280 women attended this powerful meeting of restoration.

Mexico: Our leader, Eileen Pendleton, writes, "There was terrible flooding last year in Villahermosa, Tabasco (far southern Mexico), and the AGLOW group was affected greatly. The President's house was totally under water, and many others of the team lost furnishings, businesses, etc. The AGLOW women had shelters in their homes for those displaced for a whole month or more---it was just incredible. These AGLOW ladies, who suffered so much in every way, especially financially, invited Rosy and I to fly down there to celebrate their 2nd anniversary. We were the ones who went to help them start their group, and they sent us the money to fly down and have 2 days of celebration meetings, inviting new churches to know the ministry, etc. It was so awesome. First, that they had an anniversary meeting! Not one other group in all of Mexico has had that, that I know of! Second, that the poorest group (because of last year's flooding on a worse scale of New Orleans) came up with the money to fly us down there. Third, for their victorious and jubilant spirit in each one of that very united and anointed team. And fourth, as a result of women attending the 2nd anniversary celebration they are having a welcome party for a whole bunch of new women who became interested in joining AGLOW! Their group is probably the strongest in the country and now it will be even stronger! Isn't God good? God uses the weak and poor, and raises them up to be mighty -- in Spirit! I am humbled and so blessed to be a part of this anointed ministry of AGLOW."
Mexico: Report from our leader, Elaine Wilburn. Elaine writes, "We held an evangelistic campaign in the Zihuatanejo Garbage Dump (rotting seafood smell). More than a hundred humble people live there who are not street people. We had games for the children, toys, and an action film on giant screen (like drive-in movies), and fed the crowd posoli afterward—140—counting our team. My souvenir: a zillion blistery flea bites! Overall God blessed with many new converts for the church’s 13 missions and Bible studies.
Because of wide-spread violence in the country, we had a 6-hour Prayer Vigil for Central Mexico in the parking area of Morelia’s stadium last week with 20,000 Christians coming in buses from all over the republic. Tremendous and historical!
As Area Director, I just finished a 2-day Aglow Leadership Training Seminar for women from two states, Michoacán and Guerrero, with the help of two precious women from the National Aglow Executive board, who stayed in my home. It was a wonderful and exciting opportunity to train and encourage the women in the passion to save souls and help other women. I’m exhausted but very pleased.
It’s during these challenging times that we are seeing a mighty harvest of souls won to Christ. With many churches in the USA closing their doors and ministries having to cut back on their outreach due to lack of funds, I refuse to let our financial challenges slow us down in the work the Lord has called us to do at this critical time in human history."
Paraguay: Aglow in Paraguay is living in a very special season. Our leader, Teresa Cicoria, is doing a great job, and the different groups are very motivated. They have plans to open groups in a couple of cities, other than Ciudad del Este. The Aglow leaders are part of a cell phone network and communicate all day long. Teresa sends verses, short motivating messages, prayer requests, and different alerts and news to the leaders´ cell phones. They are currently organizing a 3-day retreat in June in a country resort. Mirta Juri Patrono will be one of the speakers.
Argentina -Aglow Argentina held a powerful conference March 3rd. Stella Maris Ollah, the Aglow National President gave teachings on how to be the light of the world. Women were set free through prayer and the power of the Word of God. The women held candles and made declarations of faith.
Brazil: Aglow Brazil held a Generations Congress in May. Our leader, Ines Murad writes, "It was a time of blessing when the Lord visited us wonderfully and the youth received words of encouragement and vision for this new ministry in Aglow. It happened in a mountain environment, a truly beautiful panorama, where 65 young people gathered to listen to God’s voice and be equipped for the work in this ministry. The Lord centered the message on the need of a change in mentality to win the lost. Two young people came from Chili with their fathers. Evangeline Weiner the Generations Project Director from the International Headquarters, Ines Murad, Aglow Brazil National President, and a group of young people from Brazil. Nely de Bottino, Aglow National President from Uruguay, was also a participant. While gathered with some of the leaders on Saturday afternoon, Evangeline, Ines and Nely tried to bring understanding and insight to some of the issues that face young people."
Indonesia: In December of 2008, the Surabaya English Fellowship celebrated Christmas with a fellowship at a riverbank, where many homeless people live. About 75 attended, mostly maids, scavengers, and people from the surroundings. Some Muslims came, still wearing their veils. They always come at the fellowship, but haven’t received Jesus yet. The lady, wearing a veil, who sang, was formerly a Christian. She then married a Muslim, who’s family are strong believers, so she had to wear a veil. Meity the president shared the Word about Salvation and 6 people received Jesus. They also had a ministry for the children, distributed 50 parcels of rice for 50 families and 100 lunch boxes.
In August of 2008, the Surabaya English Fellowship celebrated Independence Day with a fellowship at a cemetery. The attendants were ex prostitutes, ex witchdoctors, ex bandits, and people from its surroundings. A man, mentally retarded, sang very enthusiastic. Meity, the president, shared the Word. Afterwards they prayed for those who needed prayer. They also held a Bible Quiz, gave rice packages for 10 winners, and distributed 150 lunch packages.
Hong Kong: Alice Tsoi, National president, reports that Aglow in Hong Kong has many outreaches. In 2008 they ministered to approximately 2000 people through prison visits, coffee mornings, orphanage, special occasions e.g. Easter/Christmas events.
Alice shared a beautiful testimony from one of the Aglow sisters. “I had been a Christian for more than twenty years before joining Aglow. Due to the many hurts I experienced in the church, I could not trust anybody. I had low self-esteem, despised others and myself. I knew God was Love but I could not feel it. Praise God for leading me to Aglow in September 2007. My life was transformed. He healed me, comforted me, changed my life and restored my relationship with Him, others and myself. Today, I am an intercessor, worship leader and a comforter to the needy. Glory to God!
Thailand: We have received a fantastic report from Mary Rink, Local President of Bangkok Aglow. Mary writes about her recent trip in the northern part of Thailand. “We walked into a realm of the spirit where GOD began to show us the roots of the strongholds over this Nation, through dreams and visions. The Holy Spirit led us exactly to where each stronghold was that needed to be broken. In two weeks we covered 2,500 kms tearing down the enemies strongholds on this nation and then taking possession of the Land that GOD has given us...
We began in Chaing Dao where GOD revealed to us through the Palong tribal people a "Gate" that was a Buddist stronghold where once a year the Buddist people would come and do demonic worship. Nopparat from Grace Era Church, led this prayer walk around the shrines in the dark of the evening 6 times .On the 7th round we proclaimed that OUR GOD REIGNS. We declared the demonic realm to have no further hold over these people and over this nation.
From Chaing Dao we continued to Phrao where we saw in visions ghosts inhabiting the region and minipulating and controlling people's lives, believers and non believers. One particular church that we were ministering in only believed that they could receive the Holy Spirit at night for that is when the ghosts came. Well, praise God, at our first service in the afternoon the entire church received the baptism of the Holy Spirit. In the evening 200 + people from other churches in the surrounding area came and joined together, they also received the true Holy Spirit. Great Joy broke out as people were set free from fears and bondage. Dancing broke forth. Everyone was dancing, Pastors included, small children, circle dances began to form with elderly and young alike as the joy of the Almighty GOD set these precious people free. We witnessed many buddhist receive Jesus and others that were healed.
From Prao we travelled north to the highest summit in Thailand. Doi Inthanan where at the top of the summit is a large shrine. GOD once again had us walk around this prophesying His word . Duet 8:19 and 20. “And it shall be, if thou do at all forget the LORD thy GOD, and walk after other gods, and serve them, and worship them. I testify against you this day that ye shall surely perish. 20. as the Nations which the LORD destroyed before thy face, so shall ye perish because ye would not be obedient unto the voice of the LORD your GOD
We anointed the steps with oil and began to cry out for Thailand and it's salvation. After we prayed we noticed that no one could step up onto the shrine as the LORD had shown us that He has put a protective barrier of fire in front of the shrine allowing no one to enter thereon.
The Holy Spirit revealed to us in a form of a whirlwind, fire being released over the Nation, an open Heaven being released from Heaven and Him saying to us Now it is an open harvest for Thailand !!!
That night I had a dream and was awakened at 4.00 a.m. to write down and hear clearly what the LORD was saying to me. In the dream I saw many large golden images of gold buddhas’ and Opium, and rivers.
The next stop that He led us to was the Golden Triangle, where Opium is a strong prophesy that we must get on the rivers and pray, we did just that. Before entering the boat we saw in the Spirit Jesus on the water calling us to come and pray with him. We took the boat up and down the Kong river tearing down and declaring God unifying the 3 Nations together ,Thailand, Burma and Laos. We also took the opportunity to go over to Laos and walk the land and pray declaring salvation over the people. It is an open Harvest!!!
From there we travelled to Mae Fah and visited the Royal Villa where the mother of the King had built a home on the top of the mountain, a replica of their home in Switzerland, while growing up. As we were received into the entrance hall of the home we noticed that God had led us to yet another stronghold over Thailand, that being in the ceiling of the receiving room engraved in wood in the ceiling were 3 circles. In the inner circle were the planets, middle circle was the zodiac signs and the outer circle was all the things that the King's mother loved, one of which were animals , flowers and a cross!
Here we broke the power of Taroh card readers and fortune tellers, lies and demonic strongholds over the people that keep the people in poverty.
We continued on our journey taking possession over the land reclaiming what is rightfully ours.
Ps 2:8 “Ask of me and I will give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession. 9.Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron: thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potters vessel 10.Be wise now therefore, o ye Kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth 11.Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
After Mae Fah we went to Mae Sai, Chaing Rai taking possession, then the Holy Spirit showed us that this would be our last place to tear out a root of the strongholds and that was in Prayou where they have a Buddhist university. Praise GOD for His word that morning to us as we prayed outside the university we heard the voice of the LORD say to us that all Monks would receive Salvation.
In the night I was awaken with Duet 1:1 where God is telling the people of Israel that you have dwelt in this part of the land, you have fought your enemies and have taken possession, now, GO and take a right turn and go in and possess this land also. So that day we took a right turn east and prayed our way to the Poipet border of Thailand and Cambodia and declared this open heaven GOD had shown us souls, souls, souls!!!”
Kyrgystan – Our leader writes, “How our lives have been changed by the Lord (through the Aglow ministry). Here are 3 testimonies of what He has done.”
Canada: On June 2 – 6, 2008 a group of Aglow ladies from the Edmonton Capital Area went on a prayer journey to the National House of Prayer in Ottawa. This has been the 1st Aglow Team to attend NHOP; significant in that Alberta has had several “prototypes”, or firsts, in ministries and events.
As we arrived on Monday, June 2, we were invited to a “Celebrate Israel” service commemorating Israel’s 60th Birthday at Peace Tower Church, where we were introduced to several MP’s and the Israeli Ambassador, His Excellency Ambassador Alan Baker. This gave us a clearer understanding that our Canadian Government supports Israel. Another highlight of this evening was an unexpected meeting with Lorraine Bastien and Aglow’s honorary member Anna-Lee Chiprout (who accompanied Aglow International of Canada to Israel in 2006). We had an opportunity to sample some wonderfully delicious Israeli treats and made some unique interactions.
Jamaica: The Lord is saying to us that we are entering into a time of great significance a time of the fulfillment of His promises to us. He is saying that we should be faithful and believe His words, and walk humbly in His holiness and righteousness. He is also speaking that a revival is coming which will bring a great draught of souls and we should put on the whole armor. His presence will go with us the presence which will give us tenacity of spirit, open closed doors, pull down strongholds, ruin the spirit of darkness, remove stumbling blocks and set the captives free.
Aglow Jamaica reaches out to their nation in many ways such as…
What a blessing they are to their nation!
Latvia - Our leader, Lasma Shastakovica, along with her husband Raivo, has organized many outreaches to villages in Latvia.
In May Aglow Latvia visited the village of Bemberi for an outreach.
Lasma writes, “The place is very poor, almost like a ghetto. People live there who are not able to pay for living expenses otherwise. When we visited that place we found the people in heavy poverty and deep darkness.”
They will go again in June, and expect 100 people to attend.
In addition to all these outreaches, Aglow Latvia is expanding their borders! They have started new groups every month by having Aglow members invite women to come to their homes for Bible study. The goal is to start 12 new groups next year.
Russia - Aglow Russia held a conference in the city of Berdsk on May 1st and 2nd. The theme was “Be Aglow in the Spirit”. Vera Tsys, Aglow National President for Russia spoke on several topics including "faith versus fear", "how to be effective in evangelism", and "a new anointing for a new season". She also did a training entitled, “Conflict is not Catastrophe!” Marina Shishova-Yudina spoke on God’s plan for the church and Israel, and inner healing from any kind of abuse. Lea Muilu spoke on emotional dependency.
The praise and worship at the conference was glorious. The presence of the Lord was strong for healing. One woman testified that her legs were healed, so that she did not need to walk with a cane any longer.
Testimony from the conference – Liudmila (name is changed): “My old age mother had bleeding for several days. The doctors gave her injections and sent her home. She suffered and couldn’t sleep because of the pain. When the conference started I had the chance to come into one session. At the end of the session I wanted to go home but something inside of me motivated me to stay right near the door. Vera Tsys shared how she prayed for her children when she was a young believer. She found out in the Bible about healing through the prayer with the anointing of oil. She didn’t have any special oil at home so she asked God to bless regular sunflower seed oil. She used this oil with prayer for healing. God healed the child!
At home I shared this testimony with my husband, and he decided to ask God to sanctify vegetable oil from our kitchen. Then we prayed for my Mom (she is more than 80 years old). We anointed her with oil, and the bleeding stopped immediately! We all had a sound sleep. In the morning I didn’t find any trace of bleeding!”
Paro’s Testimony, National Committee Member
It was the year 2003 and I was in a state of despair. My husband who was a believer had left me to marry another woman. Life had lost meaning for me even though I continued to attend church. I had two daughters, aged 11 and 12 year old at the time, who were unable to help me in any way and were even blaming me for everything. I did not know where to turn and what to do. I trusted no one.
It is at this time that I heard about a group of Aglow women who were meeting to share their difficulties and encourage one another in the Lord. I started to attend and found joy , comfort and peace in the Word of God and in His spirit. I was convinced that my God will never forsake me and that I was His daughter and I began to be filled with His love. The Holy Spirit helped me and I was able to forgive my husband, to love my two daughters and to praise God for them.
Then I met with Doris and Genka as they visited Armenia several times. During one visit they said that there were leaders in our group and I was one of them. The sisters prayed for us that the Lord may give us the vision for leading our group. The Lord spoke to my heart that my ministry was to be among women who do not have husbands. I received this call with joy and believed that if it was from Him, He will bring the right women to me.
Now I have a group of five women, three of whom have begun to attend church. This group is in existence for two years now. We study the Word of God together using Aglow Bible Study materials. Before this group began, these women had heard about God but now they are getting to know and follow Him and changes in their lives are already apparent. I give glory to God for His miracles and wonders for helping us in all things.
David’s Testimony, Aglow National Advisor, pastor of Bethel Baptist Evangelical ChurchI still remember vividly, the first time I met the Aglow sisters, Doris, Malvine, and Lisette in Yerevan. It was in the year 2000, during a pastors’ prayer meeting. They presented the work God was doing in different countries among women and through women.
It was the following year, 2001, when Doris and Genka visited again to simply encourage the ministry among women. They met with women from different churches. They also met with women in our church. As a result, in 2002, through our sisters Ruth and Sona, the first Aglow International candlelight group was made official in Armenia.
This group began to grow, and in 2006 multiplied into four Bible study groups plus a prayer group. Plus there is another group in Stepanagert, Nagorno-Kharabagh.
Since 2002, God has put it on our heart to support the local Aglow group in any way we can, and to this day our church enjoys the fruits of this decision. The sisters in leadership are from our church and the lessons in discipleship have benefited our women who were not formerly spiritually active or enthusiastic.
Now after about 5-6 years, through candlelight groups, there is a wave of revival among our women. I believe that Aglow women will continue to win many souls to Christ and with the help of the Holy Spirit, will help revive, train and set on fire for Christ many sleeping and lukewarm sisters.
It is also important to note, that the enthusiasm and faithfulness of our Aglow women encouraged the birth of the first Kids’ Aglow group which became official in the beginning of 2008. Therefore Aglow has taken root among us and before completing its seventh year has given “birth” to a new generation. I consider this a great blessing and pray that the Lord will continue to be lifted up through Aglow. This is also a challenge for our churches, to win souls to God and care for them through individual evangelism and small group discipleship.
Finland - Our leader, Kristina Turner, National President Aglow Finland, traveled with her granddaughter to Kabwe, Zambia in February to visit the orphanage where Aglow women volunteer their time and love to the children. They stayed at the orphanage in Kabwe and ministered to the children. They also participated in some Aglow meetings. Aglow Zambia held an “Aglow day” in their new Aglow house in Kabwe. Liz Daka, National President of Aglow Zambia and five from the Zambia Aglow national board attended the seminar. Kristina writes, “We had a lot of wonderful worship, good teaching and powerful prayer. The Kabwe Aglow ladies have rented a house and are having seminars and meetings there now. It looked very impressive.
In other news....
Aglow Finland held a conference in an old town which was founded by the Vikings about 1100AD. Around 300,000 people live there. Kristina writes, “It is a calm and nice town. The women’s conference was held in the local Pentecostal church, because they are not allowed to have open meetings outside the churches. The worship was very good. Over 100 women from Novgorod, St. Petersburg, Russia, and other surrounding areas attended. Three women received Jesus, and many were healed especially from problems with their legs and knees.
Middle East Aglow is thriving in the Middle East. Many are coming to the Lord, and lives are being changed. Due to security concerns, names and places cannot be published on the Aglow website. Please continue to pray for these brave women and men who fearlessly preach the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ to lands so desperately in need of Him.
Whenever you hear things on the news about these nations know that you probably have Aglow sisters and brothers in these places. Use the news for prayer guidance to lift them before the Lord.
In an African nation in the 10/40 window, our national leader traveled to a certain city to support a lunch event for a local fellowship. 52 Muslim women gave their live to Jesus at the lunch. Please pray for the safety of these women as they begin their new lives in the Lord.
The Diwaniya Arabic Television series started airing in 2000 prior to 9/11. The program specifically targets Arab Muslim women throughout the Middle East, Europe, North Africa and North America by presenting the Gospel of Christ in a culturally sensitive manner. Statistically, almost as many men contact the program as women. A major reason for the program’s broad appeal is that the program – in its Oprah style format – discusses many cultural, family, and women’s issues that are taboo subjects not discussed in Islamic culture (e.g., physical abuse, sexually transmitted disease, homosexuality, singleness). Within the context of each program the Gospel is presented. Those interested may contact the information center by phone, email, mail or text message. Upon request viewers will receive, program CDs or DVDs, Bibles, study materials, counseling, salvation presentation, connected with church or Aglow, and prayer. The vast majority of those contacting the program are Muslim. The six countries with the highest responses are Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Morocco, Algeria, and Lebanon. Diwaniya currently reaches over 120 million homes in North America, the Middle East, North Africa and Europe. It airs on 50 Public Access channels as well as 2 satellite networks. The program is also aired in Australia and New Zealand. Click here to donate to Diwaniya Arabic Television.
Dr. Victor Khalil is an Aglow International Advisor and Arabic consultant. An Arabic Pastor, he was born and raised in Egypt, attended Muslims schools, and is very knowledgeable about the Middle East. He currently reads Middle Eastern Arabic news and translates articles into English and makes them available to the body of Christ by e-mail.(Subscribe by writing to: happeningnews@cox.net) Dr. Khalil's web address is www.arablights.com. Diwaniya Arabic Televison programs may be accessed from this website.
Victor writes, "2008 was a great year for Arabic Bible distributions. Aglow International was the main key to supply over 700 Arabic Bibles in Arabic nations as well as Muslim communities in the US."
“I would like to share with you what the Lord is doing in the Arabic community. A pastor, shared with me that the Arabic Bibles arrived in time for the Salvation Army to give to many Arabic friends who received food packages."
"Another pastor said, 'The Lord is doing great things these days, I don't understand it, I'm just following him. The theory that Muslims don't enter Christian church buildings, is no longer true. Last month in our ESL classes, we have seen about 50 veiled Muslim women interred the church building. some went to the sanctuary and knelt before the alter, crying to Jesus . Another Muslim man came looking for a quit place searching for peace in the midst of these troubled days, he also went to the altar, and ask if he can be left alone to talk to the God of the Christians.'"
“I received a phone call from an high ranking figure in the Arabic Muslim media, showing appreciation to the Diwaniya for Women's shows. He asked me if I can interview him live to give his thanks, encouragement, and appreciation to such professional production, that reaches out to the Arabic community specially women.”
“Thank you Aglow friends for all the wonderful support!”
Large numbers of Muslim men and women, (some women are veiled), entered a church buildings seeking help:
Australia - Kerry Ellen Logan, Aglow Australia National President writes, “The Holy Spirit has been highlighting 2 things to us."
Aglow Australia reaches out to young women at risk by interacting with them doing crafts. They build relationship and minister the love of Jesus to them. Aglow Australia also reaches out to prostitutes with toiletries and essentials. The gifts of love open hearts for the gospel.
