December 2006 International News Report

AMERICAS

Mexico - Many exciting things are happening in Mexico.  God is pouring out His Spirit, and many are coming to the saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus.
1. One Aglow leader in Morelia says, “Aglow shines in Morelia.  They are ‘lighting up’ their city with God’s love.”   Ten new groups have been affiliated in one year!
2. In the small city of Jimenez, Aglow is only 1 year old and 200 women attend the meetings.
3. Many times our Aglow leaders hear, “My life was changed because of Aglow.”
4. One of the Aglow groups ministers in a rehab center.  Hundreds have received Jesus through this ministry.
5. An Aglow member holds exercise classes through which 49 women came to know the Lord.

ASIA & SOUTH PACIFIC 

Mongolia – Aase Sims, National Coordinator, just opened a day center for 18 children, 4-5 years old.  Aase said, “Its so lovely to invite these kids to a big warm room full of toys, good food and 2 women who just love the children.  Not many homes have toys so this must be like heaven for these kids.”  Aase said it has been a dream of hers for a long time to open a day center. 

Japan - Japan National president, Judy Middleton, is fighting for her life, she has been diagnosed with cancer in her lung and in her hip bone.  She has recently been in the U.S. for toxin cleansing treatments.  Please pray for Judy, that the Lord will touch her with HIS healing.

Singapore - In November, National Aglow president Emily Wong shared about the upcoming outreach to the Geylang red light area.  “We are preparing 300 Christmas gift packages containing chocolates, biscuits, small gift items and evangelistic tracks and materials.  Aglow International (Singapore) is partnering with One Hope Centre, and with the support of a few churches in the Geylang area.  We are mobilizing about 100 people/intercessors to be involved in prayer walking the area and sharing the love of God and the Gospel of the Good News”. 

In December, Emily shared about the results of the wonderful outreach to the red light district in Geylang.  She said, “The outreach was very successful with 36 participants from various churches and organizations present.  We went out in 10 teams comprising of 3 people in each team. We covered the Geylang red light area.  There were many, many testimonies which were received from all the participants.  We were well received by the women and men in that area, and many lives were touched by the Lord through our sharing of the Gospel and willingness to be His vessels. 

A cosmetic company donated cosmetic gift items for the outreach, and there were several other items put into gift bags for the women.

Please pray for the hearts of the women in the red light area to be softened and opened to the Lord Jesus Christ.

EUROPE

Portugal – One of the Aglow groups in Portugal invited all the pregnant women of the area and did a HUGE baby shower.  After blessing the women with gifts they shared the Word of God and how God has a plan for their lives and the lives of their children.

MIDDLE EAST

We received a glowing report from one of our local Aglow leaders, in a very restricted nation. 

She says “We have seen amazing answers to prayer recently.  For example, we have prayed for God to give the evil doers a Damascus Road experience and if they will not be turned around, to at least not allow them to hurt others in their self destruction.  Night after night, that is what we have seen on local news reports.  God has exposed some before they could do damage and others simply destroyed themselves but no one else. 

Last night they showed a man who had the explosives strapped under his shirt and the wind blew his shirt up and the police saw it and grabbed him!  We also had an experience with evil men right outside our door and they were both so confused that my husband was able to walk down the street and bring back the police to arrest them.  This happened on two separate occasions”. 

This is the answer to our prayers – please keep praying for our leaders throughout the nations.
