Fresh Anointing in Samoa

In May, a team from New Zealand led by National President, Jeanette Ward, visited the nation of Samoa. New Zealand oversees the local groups in Samoa as they work toward developing their national leadership. Formerly known as Western Samoa, the nation is located just north of the islands comprising American Samoa in the South Pacific Ocean.
The 10-day visit was filled with the strong presence of the Lord. Fresh anointing was poured out as the New Zealand team ministered to the local leadership and members. In her report, Jeanette Ward wrote of Brenda Sio, the Aglow Samoa Local President, “We are very blessed to have Brenda, a wonderful women of God. She is so full of the Holy Spirit and moves with such freedom. We just loved her full laugh, which was spontaneous and became very powerful when praying for people.”
As the teams journeyed together around Samoa, they experienced a new depth with the power of praise, laughter, praying in the Spirit, and declaring and decreeing God's word over the land and people. The time together bonded the two teams bringing a wonderful unity, which allowed the Spirit to flow unhindered.
With one office in Apia on the island of Upolu, Aglow Samoa is praying for a second office on the island of Savaii. The team was blessed to stay two nights on Savaii where they prayed over and anointed the Aglow Leader in Savaii. It was a delight for the team to see the glow on her face afterwards. They also had the opportunity to meet and pray with a precious elderly couple, 91 and 89 years old, who gave their hearts to the Lord a few years ago and are very supportive of Aglow on Savaii.
The 10-day visit was full of ‘God appointments’. Everywhere they went they shared the New Vision of Aglow, where the Worldwide Ministry of Aglow is today, and the importance of the role of Aglow Samoa in their nation. Along the way, the team also took the opportunity to pray for the needs of the people; often praying for families and businesses.
The team spoke and prayed in two village churches in Morning and Elim. They were blessed to sow finances toward the acquisition of 2,000 plastic chairs for the church in Elim.
One of the highlights of the journey was a visit with the Victim Support Children, an organization President Sio meets and prays with every month. 20 of the 40 children living in the home were present. They range in age from 4 to 19. The team was greeted with singing, and in turn 2 women from the New Zealand team sang for the children. After a time of fun games, the children were given gifts the team had brought. A monetary gift to help with food was also given to the home. Before finishing the afternoon the teams prayed for each of the children and leaders. The Victim Support Children greatly appreciated the visit, and when it was time to say goodbye there were big hugs and tears.
Toward the end of the journey the teams were blessed to be received by the wife of the Head of State of Samoa. The team presented her with a gift, and had a special time of talking, sharing, and praying.
On the final evening of the visit, the team was taken to Rhema Bible College where they joined the 'All Nations' church service. The New Zealand team left Samoa praising God for their amazing visit, and their Samoan Aglow sisters.
Through the donations and gifts of our partners, the work of Aglow is taking place around the world.
