An Open Heaven over Belarus

Vitebsk local Children's Rescue CenterInto this atmosphere, two women who serve as Area Board presidents in Aglow Britain, Helen Hunter and Jennifer Nairns, were sent by the Aglow national board in Britain to establish new Aglow groups, encourage existing leaders, and to raise up new leaders. Belarus is one of the nations that Aglow Britain oversees, providing encouragement for new Aglow groups to begin in the nation and mentoring the leaders that come forth.

Helen and Jennifer are women of great faith. Their confidence is in a God who is not caught off guard by difficult times. They know that into every crisis or difficult situation, God has hidden provision and promises for His children to live by. Equipped with unlimited possibilities, they arrived in Belarus.

From October 17-24 Helen and Jennifer met with Pastors and those in their churches. The trip was successful in every way. Four new Candlelights and one new Generations group were established. Pastors in the Minsk region positively encouraged their ladies to become part of Aglow.

In one town, Helen and Jennifer had a short time with Larissa who is the leader of a feeding program. Larissa said, “There are now 30 children coming every week for meals and I need more helpers.” She feels that God has given her new vision for the work and new strategy to build relationships with the children on an individual basis. Pray that Larissa’s portion will be abundance – abundance in food, abundance in helpers, and abundance in relationships being built with the children that will cause the atmosphere in their town to shift in a way that all will sense the hand of God.

Everywhere Helen and Jennifer went information about Aglow and the messages shared were well received. Many came for ministry after the meetings and received from God. Numerous women filled out leaders forms. Several young people took Generations leaflets and Aglow magazines to share with others. Helen and Jennifer promised to use Facebook to keep in touch.

In the town of Vitebsk, Helen and Jennifer visited the local Children’s Rescue Centre. The Centre houses children at risk who have been removed from homes that are not stable. The Aglow ladies, along with a local Pastor’s wife, go in each week to hold meetings. They tell stories, sing, arrange different activities, and give the Gospel message. Aglow Britain sent small gifts and sweets for the children which were received enthusiastically!

As Helen and Jennifer visited in many different towns, it became evident that God is doing a new thing in Belarus. The sound of His glory and expressions of His love were being shared by many. Thank you Aglow Britain for sending helpers taking the initiative to pour into the nation of Belarus. The seeds you have planted are in good soil and the fruit of your efforts are coming forth with great abundance.
