Southwest Region Washington DC Prayer Journey

In March an Aglow team from the Southwest Region went on their third yearly prayer journey to Washington, DC.  The purpose of these journeys is to pray at strategic places, and to build relationships with ministries, people, and government officials in our capital.  On this journey the team fervently sought the Lord on behalf of our country, proclaiming God's Word and declaring Kingdom Principles over our land and people.

During the course of the week-long journey the team had a briefing with the International Israel Allies Caucus, a meeting with an assistant who works with the Congressional Prayer Caucus, and were warmly welcomed by AIPAC for an informative brief, and a short lobbying lesson.  Additionally, they attended a symposium entitled The Threat from Iran hosted by the Endowment for Middle East Truth.  Powerful prayer was also offered during the week at many places in the city including the Capitol Chapel.

On one of the days the team had 23 appointments with officials in Congressional and Senate Offices.  In the meetings the team offered to pray for each government official assuring them of continued prayer support.  They also made some impromptu visits to congressional offices to lobby for Israel, Christian freedoms, limited government, a balanced budget, and family issues. Some of the team prayed at the Supreme Court and other significant nearby buildings that day between appointments.

The team was invited to the home of a couple who were involved in the very first meetings of the beginning of the Aglow ministry over 40 years ago.  Now in their 80’s, they shared their incredible life of ministry and faith together including their continued call for men to wake up each morning and pray for 2 hours on behalf of the country.

As Jane wrote in her blog, The Favorable Year of the Lord, “2012 is the year of God’s government arising and His divine accomplishments being realized in the earth.  It is imperative that we understand the favor that is upon us. This is the favorable year of the Lord….for His own Divine purposes and accomplishments. Walk in the confidence of God’s favor upon you. He intends to use you to bring His government and His Kingdom to earth. “
