We live in perilous times, times of political, economic and social upheaval throughout the world. As we watch events unfold, our hearts are stirred, our minds are sobered, and our spirits are turned toward God. We are reminded of His promise to us that as things grow darker in the world; His light will become brighter in us and upon us. We must never lose sight of this truth.
For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people; BUT the Lord will arise over you and His glory will be seen upon you. Isaiah 60:2
We see unusual weather patterns, drought, forest fires, and natural disasters of earthquakes, tsunamis and hurricanes. We hear reports of mass killings in Syria with over 10% of the population fleeing their homes in search of safety. We see political tensions rising in other Middle East nations, as well as the ongoing threat of Iran’s nuclear program accompanied by their stated intent to “wipe Israel off the map.”
I have told you all this so that you may have peace in Me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world. John 16:33
In the United States, we are moving towards the 2012 Presidential election. In this time of crisis, we need elected officials in every leadership position who will move this nation forward in Godly principles.
As we are aware, it is the believers in a nation that hold the true identity of that nation. Though the general population may be greater numerically, it is God’s people that He looks to for the purpose of calling forth and displaying the Godly identity and purpose of that nation.
Yom Kippur is known as The Day of Atonement, the holiest day of the year for the Jews. It is a time of repentance, purification and drawing near to God. As believers in Jesus, we know that He died for our personal sins and we are eternally grateful for the love and mercy He extended to us. That same love and mercy is available to all who believe. It is time for us to come before Him on behalf of the sins of America and the nations of the world.
If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from Heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land. 2Chronicles 7:14
It is time to call upon the Lord!
I am calling for a time of fasting and prayer beginning on the eve of Yom Kippur, September 25th, through November 6th, Election Day in the United States. I ask Aglow in the nations to fully participate during this called time of fasting and prayer for America’s next President – a man who will make decisions that will ultimately affect the world.
I encourage you to fast as the Lord leads you. Pray individually and in groups.
While we call...He promises to hear.

Amen!!!! For God..Hears the cry of His people..Let there be an outpouring, as well as a pouring-out of the Holy Spirit, In all Righteousness..Holiness...Wisdom...knowledge, and understanding...Let us,bow down,kneel before God our maker..Clothed in sack clothe and ashes..We must reverberate His Holiness into a nation,a world..that's desperately in need of the gospel..We must lift high...the Banner of His righteousness!..And scatter the darkness..and any..evil thing, that stands against the Kingdom of God..For God demands of us..righteouness!for righteousness, will bring down every form of abomination. Healing,deliverance,repentance,refreshing, and restoration will reverberate from our lives and invade the world!!!!

Thank you for calling for this fast, Jane. I will be joining Aglow men and women around the world in fasting and praying for this critical time in our nation. Many will be making defining decisions on November 6 that will lead us to a defining moment for the future of our nation. This morning as I was praying for America, I was reminded of Abraham's intercession for Sodom and Gomorrah in Gen 18 where he tested his favor with God (or, to quote Graham Cooke, "took his favor out for a spin"!)...Will you spare the city if there are 50 righteous? 45? 40? 30? 20? 10?
As the believers in this nation, let's use our favor with God to intervene during the next 56 days so that His defining presence would grace our nation and shift our direction towards Him. -

The world is in total disorder. I believe this as a result of our turning away from God & hoping man can rectify this situation. We have taken God out of everything. How can God bless America when we have taken Him out of everything we stand for.Stand up for God &he will bless you beyond belief.We should kick out the A C L U as I feel they are large contributors to a lot of the problems we are having. I believe that in this election we should be voting for righteousness only. I believe that God will honor that and bring forth prosperity as He did in the past.
Voting for someone to fix our problems and not for righteousness will only cause continued destruction of our land. Vote for God and His ways. Righteousness will prevail. -
