We are overnighting in Kampala tonight. We will catch the flight to Ethiopia in the morning. A special dinner was held tonight, as we will part from our Uganda team members now. They have been wonderful; they do much hard work and are on call at all times. We collected and then presented gifts to each one of them. It is hard leave them.

“I was unprepared for just about everything,” said 25-year-old Amy Boles after her first trip out of the United States to Negros Island, Philippines, as a part of Aglow’s 12-member transformation team on a short-term mission, March 8-20, 2009.
This is Aglow’s third annual trip to Negros, led by Transformation Director, Janet Mangum, and the rewards are rich for team members. They return with stories of transformation in their own lives as a direct result of how God met them in circumstances that took them way out of their comfort zones.
Amy was asked to give the evening message at a large gathering on her 4th day in the country, and felt strangely prepared by the Lord and peaceful.
On this trip, the team fanned out to a few public high schools, one with 7,000 students, and were able to share the gospel from classroom to classroom or at a general assembly. They ministered in jails and government offices. They handed out invitations to evening gatherings by going house to house, pausing to pray for those who needed healing.
At those gatherings, physical healings were abundant...
Fresh update from Jamaica’s Marjorie Lester, National Assistant for Aglow in the Central Caribbean who is sending out prayer points throughout Aglow in the Caribbean. We are waiting to hear from our leaders in the Dominican Republic who were making plans to travel to Haiti to search for our Aglow women and men there.
If you want to provide immediate financial assistance to the earthquake victims, please send your donations to the established disaster relief organizations that are collecting funds to help, such as The Red Cross, World Concern, and The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.
We are adding Bridges for Peace they are partnering with a team of trained Israeli medical and first response professionals who have arrived in Haiti to be a blessing to the world (Gen. 12:3). They have set up a mobile field hospital (emergency room, surgery room, laboratory, x-ray) at great cost. If your heart is moved to bless Israel as they bless Haiti, donate here.
Prayer Points for Haiti:
Our Aglow leaders in the Dominican Republic (attached geographically to Haiti) have asked for our prayers as they prepare to travel to Haiti on behalf of the Aglow International ministry. They will enter the nation to bring economic aid as well as spiritual and emotional support, and will update us on the situation as they are able.
Latvia - Aglow leader, Lasma Shastakovica, along with her husband Raivo, has organized many outreaches to the villages in Latvia.
In March of 2009 Aglow Latvia went on a mission trip to the village of Rogaye, which is close to the border of Russia. It is a journey of 400km (about 250 miles). Most of the funding for the trip came from one disabled person in Iecava.
An important part of the Aglow ministry in Zalite is charity. In April of 2009 Aglow Latvia provided much-needed clothing and other items to the people in the village.
In addition to these outreaches, Aglow Latvia is expanding their borders! They have started new groups every month by having Aglow members invite women to come to their homes for Bible study. The goal is to start 12 new groups next year.
